WATCH: Tom Homan Goes Nuclear On Democrats Running Cover For MS-13: ‘Animals’
Border czar Tom Homan had harsh words for Democrat lawmakers who have been running cover for the ultra-violent MS-13 street gang on Thursday, reminding Democrats that he was meeting with families of victims of illegal immigrant crime just after the interview..
Democrat lawmakers, including Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), have travelled to El Salvador in recent weeks in order to demand the release of suspected MS-13 gang member Kilmar Ábrego García.
Homan was asked by Fox News host John Roberts about the domestic abuse complaints levied against Ábrego García by reading the protective order.
“It says, in part, the following, quote, ‘I have photos of all the bruises he has left on my body. Me and my kids are afraid now. He’s kicked me, pushed me, slapped me in the face, threatened me. I also have a recorded that he’s told me, my ex-mother-in-law, that even if he kills me, no one can do anything to him.’ She alleges significant abuse, and this would seem to buttress the notion that this guy was not the husband and father of the year the Democrats are making him out to be,” Roberts said.
“Well, it supports what we’ve been saying from day one. We removed the public safety threat, gang member, designated terrorist, who’s been ordered twice to be deported to the United States. He’s in El Salvador. He’s home. We did the right thing,” Homan responded.
“But I hope that the Democrats keep going down there. I hope they keep playing this game. They’re showing the American people they’re supporting a gang member terrorist public safety threat, wife beater, rather than meet with Angel moms and dads. I’m meeting with 50 Angel moms and dads this afternoon,” he continued.
“Is there one Democrat representative going to be there? No.”
Democrats and their media allies have falsely referred to the deported illegal alien as a “Maryland man” despite the fact that he has no legal status in the United States. A federal immigration judge also found that the so-called “Maryland man” had ties to local gang leaders in a hearing following Abrego Garcia’s 2019 arrest.
Court documents noted that he was wearing a Chicago Bulls hat and a hoodie with imagery supposedly indicative of MS-13 affiliation, and it cited a confidential informant claiming he was an active MS-13 member.
In addition to his alleged gang ties, Ábrego García was involved in a suspicious traffic stop in 2022, when a Tennessee State Police officer pulled him over for speeding and erratic driving. Ábrego García was transporting several additional illegal aliens from Maryland to Houston, Texas at the time of the stop, telling officers that he was transporting them to a construction job.
The officer noted that he did not see any luggage in the vehicle, however, which prompted him to report the encounter to federal authorities. After doing so, he was told that the vehicle Ábrego García was driving belonged to Jose Ramon Hernandez Reyes, another illegal alien who pleaded guilty to trafficking individuals across the U.S.-Mexico border in 2020.
Ábrego García told officers that Reyes was his boss and was not arrested as a result of the stop. He was flagged as a “suspect alien” who was possibly involved in “human smuggling/trafficking” after the traffic stop raised suspicions, according to internal DHS documents released last week.
Reyes was operating his human smuggling ring out of Houston, Texas at the time of his arrest, which is where Ábrego García was traveling when he was stopped in 2022.
