During Wednesday night’s CNN primetime town hall event in New Hampshire, moderator Kaitlan Collins asked Former President Trump if he wanted Russia or Ukraine to “win” the conflict in Ukraine. Trump responded by saying that he wants peace and for the killing to end immediately.
Trump previously stated that he did not want to look at the conflict in terms of “winning or losing,” again stating that one of his main priorities as president would be ending the conflict. Collins then said that it was “very important” to hear who Trump wanted to “win” the conflict before asking the question straight up.
“I want everybody to stop dying, they’re dying, Russians and Ukrainians,” Trump firmly stated, drawing applause from the crowd. “And I’ll have that done in 24 hours, I’ll have it done. You need the power of the presidency to do it,” the former president added.

“But you won’t say that you want Ukraine to win,” Collins shot back before attempting to quickly move on. At that point, Trump reiterated a common goal of his presidency which was to get European and NATO nations to increase their own defense spending in order to lessen the burden on the United States.
“Ya know what I’ll say? I’ll say this: I want Europe to put up more money,” Trump said, adding that “they’re laughing at us.”
