In Eagle Pass, Texas, former President Donald Trump unleashed a torrent of criticism against California Governor Gavin Newsom, whom he mockingly referred to as “Gavin ‘Newscum’.” Trump’s scathing remarks highlighted the failure of current border policies and the adverse effects of liberal promises on immigration.

“We had the most secure border and people weren’t coming because they knew they weren’t going to get in,” Trump stated, reminiscing about his tenure in the Oval Office. “And we weren’t promising free education, free medical, free everything. I mean, all the promises that are made, no wonder they come,” Trump added.

The former President did not hold back in his critique of Governor Newsom’s policies, suggesting that the allure of free medical care and other benefits under Newsom’s administration is contributing to a surge in immigration.

“I mean, you look at what this Governor ‘New-scum’ from California, isn’t that his name, ‘New-scum’? What he’s done to California is unbelievable,” Trump remarked.

“People are pouring in, they think they’re going to get medical aid. And our soldiers, our vets aren’t being taken care of,” Trump lamented.

Both Trump and Biden embarked in competing tours of the border on Thursday, offering opposing views on immigration issues and assigning blame. These events are unfolding in the lead-up to the Super Tuesday primaries.
