WATCH: Trump Speaks After Winning South Carolina Primary In Record Time

Former President Donald Trump addressed supporters in South Carolina after winning the race in record time.

While the former president had long polled as a sizable favorite in his chief rival’s home state, the timing of the call came as a shock to many, as Trump was declared the victor just minutes after polls closed.

Trump was flanked by a number of key supporters, including Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Lara Trump and South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster while speaking at his campaign headquarters in the Palmetto State. “This was a little sooner than we anticipated. And even bigger win than we anticipated. And I was just informed that we got double the number of votes that has ever been received in the great state of South Carolina,” Trump told an energetic crowd of supporters.

So, it’s a record times two. And there’s something going on in the country,” he continued.

The latest win follows similar blowouts in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and the Virgin Islands.

With the conclusion of South Carolina’s primary, both Trump and Haley will head to Michigan for the second primary contest in less than a week. The former president maintains a massive polling advantage in the state and is projected to once again secure a comfortable win despite Haley’s insistence on staying in the race.

This is a developing story.
