Donald Trump has revealed that he pulled no punches during a meeting with a Taliban leader while he was president and said that he even threatened to “obliterate” the terrorist before backing his threats up with a live image of his home.
After President Biden’s disastrous withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan which resulted in countless deaths and allowed the Taliban to take control of the nation, former president Trump said he took a hard line against the terror group and its leader, Abdul Ghani Baradar while he was in the White House.
During an interview with Fox’s Sean Hannity on Thursday night, Trump claimed that he had warned the Muslim terror cell leader that if the group attempted to initiate any move, he would “hit you harder than any country has ever been hit”.
Hannity asked the MAGA chief if he had told Baradar, who is now, thanks to Biden, Afghanistan’s deputy prime minister, that he knows “exactly where you are”, to which Trump replied, “No, I sent him a picture of his house”.
“Under my conversations with Abdul, who’s the leader of the Taliban, for 18 months, we didn’t lose one soldier,” continued Trump.
After Trump sent the Jihadi leader the satellite image, Trump said he became startled and wanted to know the (then) president’s intentions:
“He said, ‘But why but why do you send me a picture of my house? I said, ‘You have to figure that one out.’
“I said, ‘If you do anything, we’re going to hit you harder than any country has ever been hit.’ He said, ‘I understand, your Excellency.”
Trump went on to discuss Biden’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021 which resulted in the death of 13 US Marines who were killed by an explosive device as they helped to evacuate US troops and allies. Hundreds of Afghani citizens have also died at the hands of the Taliban since their taking control of the region.
The former president said that while he planned to faze troops out in Afghanistan, he would not have taken Biden’s route:
“I’m the one who got it down to very few soldiers. I wanted to get out,” he said. During his presidency, he whittled the number of remaining troops down to around 2,500.

“We would have had a very similar schedule, but I would have taken the military out last.”
He suggested that Biden’s withdrawal lacked coherent strategy and that had he organized the mission, he “would have taken the best equipment in the world military equipment, $85 billion worth of military equipment we left behind.”
“And by the way, 13 soldiers were killed.”
Trump went on to criticize Biden’s open-door policy on illegal immigration, adding that “Millions and millions of people have poisoned our country.”
“Yesterday I heard that Venezuela is emptying their prisons out into the United States,’ the former president told Hannity. ‘I’m almost surprised it took them so long.”
Earlier this summer, Biden extended the legal protection status for hundreds of thousands of Venezuelan migrants, preventing them from being deported. He also scrapped Trump’s policy of making migrants wait on Mexico’s side of the border while they are processed and screened for criminal convictions, making it far harder to remove dangerous criminals from the country and increasing the likelihood of criminals or terrorists disappearing into the US.
