WATCH: US Men’s Soccer Team Breaks Into Trump Dance After Scoring Goal

The signature dance moves of President-elect Donald Trump lit up an international pitch on Monday after the star of the U.S. Men’s National Team scored and celebrated on the sideline.

Christian Pulisic, 26, scored against Jamaica during quarterfinals play for the CONCACAF competition, putting his team up 1-nil in the 13th minute. The USMNT captain broke past a three-man defense and effortlessly one-touched a lob from midfield past goalie Andre Blake before running to the corner flag. There, he broke out his best impression of Trump’s arm-waving dance routine, a playful gesture that has become a heady reminder of his victory this month. Pulisic, an eight-season veteran of the international stage, is the latest athlete to embrace the phenomenon.

President-elect Trump’s notoriety for his upper-body twist-and-shake routine became a sensation during the 2024 cycle,  especially after a technical glitch at one of his mid-October rallies which resulted in the silencing of his microphone. For 40 minutes, he stood on stage with fans and family members as the speakers blared songs by Pavarotti, the Village People, and several of his other favorites. The moment of campaign trail levity was roundly mocked by critics who tried to compare his misfortune to President Joe Biden’s worst senior moments, but it backfired in a big way: Trump’s dance has exploded in the cultural zeitgeist this month as other notable athletes have paid their respects.

Nick Bosa, the San Francisco 49ers defensive end and former Defense Rookie of the Year, showed off his Trump dance last weekend after completing a sack during a 23-20 win over the Denver Broncos. Mimicking President-elect Donald Trump’s habit of pumping his fists to music piped overhead at his rallies, the 27-year-old Florida native was joined by three of his teammates as they shook their hips for the end zone cameras. He enjoyed the moment without being fined, unlike his previous stunt of flashing a Make America Great Again hat during a live interview.

Fox News reported that he isn’t the only football player to pay homage to President Trump’s dance moves. Drake Bulldogs wide receiver Trey Radocha did a similar dance after scoring a recent touchdown against the University of St. Thomas. So did Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers during a 34-19 loss at Miami.

On Sunday President-elect Trump enjoyed an adoring welcome to a UFC match between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic; after Jones won the bout in Madison Square Garden, he broke out his own rendition before shaking Trump’s hand while the crowd chanted “USA!”
