WATCH: Van Jones Gets Emotional Sharing Last Message From Charlie Kirk On CNN

Last Friday, CNN left-wing commentator Van Jones showed heart and class when he stood up for assassinated conservative activist Charlie Kirk, sharing a message he received from him the day before he was murdered.

Before he was assassinated, Kirk had gotten into a rather heated dispute with Jones concerning the murder of Iryna Zarutska, a Ukrainian refugee and white woman, who was senselessly killed by 34-year-old Decarlos Brown, a black man, on a train in Charlotte, North Carolina, a month ago.

According to Anderson Cooper, the racial aspect of the situation amplified the dispute between the two men.

During a segment on “Anderson Cooper 360,” Jones told the program host, “We were beefin’. We were going at it online, on-air.” But that changed on Sept. 9, when Kirk sent Jones a direct message on X.

“Hey, Van, I mean it. I’d love to have you on my show to have a respectful conversation about crime and race. I would be a gentleman as I know you would be as well. We can disagree about the issues agreeably,” Kirk wrote.

Jones, however, didn’t get the message until after Kirk was assassinated.

“And then, after he died — after he was murdered,” Jones went on to say during the show, “My team called and said, ‘Van, he was trying to reach you, man.’ … ‘What?’”

Jones then highlighted the virtues of the slain founder of Turning Point USA by shedding light on his motives for reaching out.

“And what was he doing?” the political commentator added. “Dialogue. Let’s be gentlemen together. He says, ‘let’s disagree agreeably.’”

“So I’m sitting on this,” Jones continued, “and I’m watching the whole country talk about civil war, censorship, justifying murder — about this guy?”

“He was not for censorship,” Jones told Cooper. “He was not for civil war. He was not for violence. He was for dialogue, open debate and dialogue. Even with me. Even with me.”

Following the heinous assassination of Kirk, many leftists celebrated the murder on social media. Some of them were ultimately fired from their jobs for their deplorable comments. Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, who claimed the shooter was a member of the MAGA movement, was suspended from his show by ABC for the egregious comments.
