WATCH: White House Drops Breathtaking Ad One Year After Assassination Attempt
On Sunday, July 13, one year after an assassin’s bullet came millimeters away from killing President Donald Trump, the White House released a powerful ad commemorating the tragic event and the resilience of the Make America Great Again movement.
The ad begins with flashbacks from President Trump’s business career before cutting to a clip from a 1988 interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which Trump first publicly suggested that he had entertained the idea of running for president. “Donald Trump seems to always get stronger with challenge,” reads one of the constantly rotating quotes that were overlayed throughout the video.
“They have no idea what they have unleashed,” reads another quote atop a video from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in 2011. The dinner is widely seen as a primary catalyst for Trump’s eventual decision to run, as then-President Barack Obama dedicated a significant portion of his monologue to trashing him as the current officeholder glared on.
“I know that he’s been taking some flak lately, but no one is prouder to put this birth certificate matter to rest than Donald. Now he can get back to focusing on the issues that matter, like, ‘Did we fake the moon landing?’ What really happened in Roswell? And where are Biggie and Tupac?” Obama said before claiming that Trump will never be president.
The ad then transitions to images from Trump’s political rise, including the famous escalator descent and some of the president’s earliest rallies in 2015. “What will future Americans say we did in our brief time here on Earth? It will be defined by your vision, your perseverance, and your grit. Nothing will sway us, nothing will slow us, and no one will ever stop us,” reads another quote from the president.
Additional scenes depicted in the ad include the president’s famous mugshot from the bogus criminal cases levied against him, the 2024 Republican National convention and of course, the iconic aftermath of the assassination attempt in which Trump raised his fist and shouted, “fight, fight, fight!”
“We are Americans. Ambition is our heritage. Greatness is our birthright.”
