What DeSantis Wants To See Happen To Lawmakers Who Voted For ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ Would Be Glorious

President Joe Biden signed the horribly named “Inflation Reduction Act” into law earlier in August, after Democrats took it and jammed it through Congress with zero support from anyone in the Republican Party. As it turned out, this legislation basically had nothing at all to do with reducing inflation in order to reduce the burden on American consumers. Instead, it included billions of dollars for expanding the Internal Revenue Service, not to mention money for various “environmental” issues.

According to TheBlaze, Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis stated on Tuesday that he thinks every single lawmaker who voted in favor of this bill should face a mandatory annual audit from the IRS. Wouldn’t that be glorious? Talk about getting just desserts. If only we lived in a perfect world where such a delightful thing was possible.

Here are some of the details on DeSantis’ comments via TheBlaze:

DeSantis claimed that IRS agents hired because of the bill will be utilized to target those who the “government doesn’t like.” He said that they will not just target billionaires, noting that billionaires have accountants as well as lawyers — the governor said that they will pursue those who cannot “defend themselves against these audits.”

In an Aug. 10 letter to IRS Commissioner Charles P. Rettig, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen wrote, “Specifically, I direct that any additional resources—including any new personnel or auditors that are hired—shall not be used to increase the share of small business or households below the $400,000 threshold that are audited relative to historical levels.”

During his remarks on Tuesday, DeSantis also called out Biden’s plan to nix massive amounts of federal student loan debt, saying that Biden does not possess the authority to make the move. The Biden administration plans to cancel $10,000 of federal student loan debt for people earning less than $125,000 per year — those who received Pell Grants would get $20,000 of federal student loan debt wiped out.

DeSantis, who once served in the U.S. House of Representatives, is in the middle of seeking reelection to the office of governor. He is all set to go toe-to-toe with Democratic Rep. Charlie Crist, who might just be one of the worst political candidates in any election. Given his competition in this field, that’s quite an accomplishment.

Crist, after cinching a victory in the Democratic Party primary last week, went on to make one of the dumbest comments a person can make while out on the campaign trail, a statement that absolutely backs up my belief about him being the worst candidate, which I stated above. The knucklehead remarked that he did not want any of the votes from DeSantis supporters, which is a comment that makes no sense because if they support Desantis then of course they won’t be pulling the lever for Crist.

And it seems that California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, has pledged to send Crist $100,000. Because, for some odd reason, Newsom feels that what happens in Florida is his business. Crist’s running mate, Karla Hernandez, is currently the head honcho of the left-wing teachers union.
