What the US Men’s Soccer Coach Wore in Qatar is Absolutely Appalling

The US Soccer Team is currently playing in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup, with the event kicking off on November 20th and there having been continuous heartburn since the event began over what woke think western athletes would attempt doing to upstage the Qataris.

Particularly, worries have abounded that the woke athletes will do something flamboyantly pro-gay that will find them locked up in a Qatari jail and cause an international incident. So far, fortunately, that hasn’t happened. But the coach of the men’s soccer team did wear a gross shirt that shows his complete lack of patriotism, merely saying “STATES” rather than “United States” and having no patriotic symbols on it, whether eagles or flags or anything else.

Such is what Fox News reported, saying:

Like most good Americans, I tuned in for the opening match against Wales, a disappointing draw. But the result wasn’t what disappointed me most. I couldn’t help but get irrationally upset every time they showed the US sideline because of the t-shirt worn by Berhalter.

A black-and-white Nike shirt that simply says, “STATES.” Not “United” States. No red-white-and-blue. No eagles, no flag, no nothing. It’s as sterile as sterile can be.

I don’t know if this was a choice by Gregg Berhalter or simply the shirt he was given, but someone made a terrible decision. And it didn’t go unnoticed.

What also has not gone unnoticed is how proud every other country seems to be of their own land. If you haven’t seen some of the other nations’ people during their national anthems, it is truly a site to behold.

Is it really too much to ask for the coach of the United States Men’s Soccer Team to wear a patriotic shirt saying “United States”, perhaps with a flag on it? Apparently.

I don’t know about you, but I’m just not a huge fan of soccer, for a number of reasons. The flopping is tiresome and ridiculous, particularly when it’s grown men rolling around clutching their arm after being slightly jostled by another player. The lack of scoring for most of the entirety of every game makes it somewhat boring to watch, as even a great pass, incredible break across the field, or shot unexpectedly fired toward the net rarely ever seems to amount to much.

Beyond all that, the left seems to love soccer, so it’s just hard to watch. And that’s assuming this isn’t a US Women’s Soccer Team game where Rapinoe is involved…then it’s a definite “no” from me.

But the World Cup is hard to avoid on Twitter so, despite having been not paying nearly any attention to it, I’ve seen a few bits and pieces of what went on.

Well, thanks to having seen a few bits and pieces of what “our” team is up to in Qatar, now I have another reason to never watch soccer.
