NEW: Trump Doubles Support From Black Wisconsinites In NBC Exit Poll

Former President Trump is getting encouraging early results from the pivotal battleground state of Wisconsin, as Vice President Harris is currently underperforming among a key demographic, according to exit polls. She is also underperforming in the blue strongholds of Dane County and Milwaukee, though large numbers of ballots have yet to be counted in each location.

An exit poll from NBC News found former President Trump winning 20 percent of black male voters, doubling his numbers from 2020 if the results hold. “This year Trump is pulling about 20% of the Black vote, versus 78% for Harris. Four years ago, Trump won only about 8% of Black voters in the Badger State,” NBC’s Dasha Burns reported.

In Dane County — which includes the massive population center of Madison and the University of Wisconsin — Harris is currently securing 70 percent of the vote with roughly 30 percent of votes counted. If the trend holds, Harris would underperform President Biden’s 2020 results, when he secured 75.5 percent of ballots cast. Dane County is widely viewed as the key to Democratic Party success in the Badger State, along with Milwaukee.

“3 more rural towns from deep blue Dane County. We’re starting to see a pattern here. Trump may see slippage in Waukesha, but is doing better in towns,” election analyst Joe Handrick reported. “So far, Trump is doing better in every Dane cty town I’ve found.”

In deep blue Milwaukee, election officials are cautioning that vote counting will be slow due to technical issues with voting machines. Roughly 31,000 votes are currently being re-counted due to the error.

“It is just out of an abundance of caution. We have no reason to believe that there was any compromise to any of the machines, but because they were not fully sealed, human error, not fully sealed, we are going to zero them all out again,” a Milwaukee city official told reporters.

The Trump Campaign is also encouraged by strong nationwide turnout in rural areas, which could bode well for Wisconsin if the same trends hold, as the state is heavily rural and notoriously difficult to poll.
