Woke Actor George Takei Gets Brutally Roasted After Making Absurd Claim

Actor George Takei, known for his outspoken liberal views, found himself at the center of controversy following a response to Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-LA) heartfelt condolence message regarding the tragic death of University of Georgia student Laken Riley.

Takei, posting on X, drew a parallel between Johnson’s statement and the injustices faced by the Japanese-American community during World War II, and received a wave of criticism from conservative circles for what many saw as an inappropriate and absurd comparison.

Speaker Johnson’s original tweet expressed his sorrow and outrage at the loss of Laken Riley, whose death reignited debate on border security and immigration policy.

Takei’s response to Speaker Johnson, however, shifted the conversation to a historical grievance, stating, “I know your type of politician. Men like you smeared my community during World War II by preying upon people’s fears of others who didn’t look like them. It led to the internment and 125,000 shattered lives. Never again.”

The comparison quickly sparked outrage among conservatives who viewed Takei’s comments as an attempt to politicize a tragedy and distract from the pressing issues of immigration policy and national security.

The accused, Jose Antonio Ibarra, a Venezuelan national with a prior investigation by the FBI for assault on a federal officer, had been released from Border Patrol custody despite illegally crossing the southern border in June 2022.

Facing multiple charges including malice murder and kidnapping, Ibarra’s case has become a focal point in discussions about the effectiveness and moral obligations of the United States’ immigration system.

The assertion that Johnson’s statement bears resemblance to those who enacted the internment of Japanese Americans was met with accusations of fear-mongering and historical revisionism.
