WOW: Republicans SOUND OFF on FBI Following Revelations of It Shutting Down Hunter Biden Laptop Probe
News recently came out that the disgraced, now ex-FBI agent Timothy Thibault was not only politically biased, but the one behind shutting down the investigation into the Hunter Biden laptop and the potentially damning information about the Biden family on it.
Specifically, the New York Post reported that Thibault was the one assigned to be the point man in handling Tony Bobulinski, one of Hunter Biden’s former business partners, and the claims he was making about what the presidential candidate’s son had been up to over the past years, engaging in a shocking degree of influence peddling and even sending money the way of “the Big Guy,” which was presumably Joe Biden.
Despite all the information that Bobulinski gave the FBI and the five hour interview he did with them, his allegations were shut down by Thibault, who did his best to hide what Bobulinski had shared and had made a number of anti-Trump social media posts.
In other words, the guy the FBI assigned to handle the Hunter Biden allegations was a notorious Trump-hater who allegedly used his power to shield Biden and his son from an FBI investigation that could have derailed Biden’s presidential bid. Sounds about right for the FBI.
And so now the agency and Thibault are under attack from GOP senators, with Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson leading the charge against the obviously biased, anti-Trump agent and agency.
Skewering both in a letter written to FBI Director Christopher Wray, for example, Sen. Grassley said:
“In October 2020, an avenue of additional derogatory Hunter Biden reporting was ordered closed at the direction of ASAC Thibault.”
“It’s been alleged that the FBI HQ team suggested to the FBI agents that the information was at risk of disinformation; however, according to allegations, [it] was either verified or verifiable via criminal search warrants … Thibault allegedly ordered the matter closed without providing a valid reason, as required by FBI guidelines [and] it’s alleged that FBI officials, including ASAC Thibault, subsequently attempted to improperly mark the matter in FBI systems so that it could not be opened in the future.”
Similarly, Sen. Johnson went on the attack when speaking to the New York Post about what the agent and agency had been up to in hiding Hunter’s influence peddling from public scrutiny, saying:
“Unfortunately, Tony Bobulinski’s first-hand eyewitness testimony regarding President Biden’s knowledge of Hunter Biden’s compromising web of foreign financial entanglements, especially with the Chinese, was not only ignored by the media, but also by the FBI.
“The suppression and censoring of his testimony and Hunter’s influence peddling impacted the 2020 election to a far greater extent than anything Russia or China could have ever achieved.”
On the House of Representatives side of things was a similarly furious Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio. He took the FBI to task on Twitter, saying:
According to brave whistleblowers, Timothy Thibault:
-Tried to shut down an avenue of the Hunter Biden investigation.
-Cooked the books on “domestic violent extremism” cases.
-Hid intel on Hunter and the ‘Big Guy’ Joe Biden.
Where does it stop?
“Where?” indeed, though it seems like it won’t ever stop unless these agencies and those perfidious bureaucrats running them are held to account for their bias and malfeasance.
