“You’re Not Gonna Raise That F**king Price”; Fascinating 2012 Trump Speech Resurfaces

When was it that Trump the political candidate was born? Was it at that infamous press dinner when then-president Obama mocked him? Was it when George W. Bush’s presidency destroyed support for America abroad with the Iraq War and America’s domestic prosperity with the Great Financial Crisis? Or was it in 2012, when he gave a brilliant speech in which he spoke to the needs and interests of the crowd rather than the political elites and saw the huge outpouring of support that followed his doing so?

One huge, pro-MAGA Twitter account, Johnny MAGA, suggested it was the latter, saying:

2012: Candidate Trump is born

Up until this point, most of the audience had only ever heard politicians speaking to the interests of the multinationals & donor class

Watch how they react when he speaks to their interests 👇

Watch the video here and decide for yourself if this was Trump’s political awakening:

As you can hear in the video, Trump skewered Obama’s foreign policy, describing how ridiculous that it is that America honored foreign leaders that hate us and want to destroy us while simultaneously refusing to stand up for the interests of the average American on the world stage. In his words:

You know, the other thing about Libya that really bothers me because we get back again, it always gets back to China because while we’re spending billions of dollars being policemen of the world, China’s spending billions of dollars a day, buying the world and calling us stupid. And we have the president of China come a few months ago to Washington, and we give him a state dinner.

Now when people are screwing you, you don’t give them steak dinners. I said no, no, we’re not giving dinners what we do is we sit down on my office for a couple of hours, we the make a deal where you stop manipulating your currency or not.

If we make a deal, you can have a steak dinner if you want. If you don’t make a deal, you take McDonald’s and you go home. That’s it. That’s it. You’re going to be paying five and 6 dollars a gallon for gasoline pretty soon. And they want to, they want to go in and raise the price of oil. Because we have nobody in Washington that sits back and said ‘you’re not gonna raise that fucking price.’ You understand me?

The crowd did understand him. Listening to someone who finally got it and understood what their interests are rather than what the interests of the donor class are, they roared with applause in response.

So, was that when Trump understood the populist message that could make him a president? Many commenting on the resurfaced video thought so.

One, for example, said, “We need ANGRY Trump again“. Another said, “DJT is our guy! Anyone that McConnell, Romney and the has been P.Ryan says hurts the old Republican party is the one we want in the White House! We aren’t our parents Republican party anymore.” Still another pointed out why the elites hate him so much, saying “Should help us understand why they have to demonize him and get him out of the way. He was right when he said it too- “They’re not after me, they’re after you. I’m just in the way.“‘
