Trump Makes Major Move Against The Biden Family

Published

In a major slap in the face to the family of former President Joe Biden, President Donald Trump on Tuesday issued an unconditional pardon to one of the key witnesses who helped expose alleged criminal activity by his son Hunter, brother James, sister-in-law, and others who benefited from millions of dollars paid as a result of lucrative foreign business dealings.

The pardoning of Devon Archer came as a shock and largely flew under the radar in the wake of a seismic story about the Trump administration’s accidental invitation to a liberal journalist to join a secure communications channel. However, Trump’s move is significant given Archer played an outsize role in helping U.S. House Republicans launch a sweeping investigation into the Biden family after he agreed to act as a whistleblower.

In signing the pardon, Trump stated that Archer was the victim of a “crime” and had been treated “very unfairly.” He had been facing up to a year in prison for allegedly defrauding a Native American tribe by fraudulently selling members $60 million worth of bonds.

“Devon Archer was a former business partner of the Biden family. He was prosecuted relating to a fraud investigation, but notably, the tone and tenor of that prosecution changed dramatically after he began to cooperate with congressional investigators and serve as a witness against Hunter Biden and the Biden family. We believe that was an injustice, and therefore we’re asking you to pardon him,” White House Staff Secretary Will Scharf told the president shortly before the signing.

“And many people have asked me to do this. I think he was treated very unfairly. And I looked at the records, studied the records, and he was a victim of a crime, as far as I’m concerned. So we’re going to undo that,” Trump said.

“Congratulations, Devon,” Trump added.

Speaking about the pardon, Archer, a former business associate of Hunter, told Fox News’ Jesse Watters that he never imagined having to ask President Trump for a pardon because President Biden and his son promised to “take care of him,” the anchor said in a report this week.

Instead, “they were lobbying to put me in as the target and remove Hunter,” Archer told Watters, the Daily Caller reports. “I think it’s chronic of what that legal apparatus was and I certainly was a victim.”

For years, Archer and Hunter Biden operated on foreign soil, wining and dining overseas oligarchs, royals, and high-powered businessmen while leaning into the Biden family name. On more than a dozen occasions, Hunter dialed his father, the sitting vice president at the time, into meetings to demonstrate his ability to move the levers of power in Washington, D.C.

Investigations by House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) revealed a series of shell companies funneling proceeds from some of those deals back to James Biden, the president’s brother, and his wife Sarah. Some of that money was then transferred to the president’s personal bank account, a sum of $40,000, which was marked as a “loan repayment” by his brother.
