WATCH: Jimmy Kimmel Advances Blatant Lie That Kirk Assassin Was ‘MAGA’

ABC late night host Jimmy Kimmel is under fire for advancing a blatantly untrue, malicious lie that Tyler Robinson, the gunman accused of killing prominent conservative activist Charlie Kirk, is a “MAGA” supporter.

“We had some new lows over the weekend, with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel stated without any evidence to support the alleged gunman’s “MAGA” views.

“In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving. On Friday, the White House flew the flags at half-staff, which got some criticism. But on a human level, you can see how hard the president is taking this,” he added before cutting to an out-of-context clip to claim Trump hardly cared about Kirk’s murder. “This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he called a friend. This is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish, okay?”

Kimmel is among the most high-profile leftist figures to insinuate that Robinson was a conservative or Trump supporter without any evidence whatsoever. Robinson’s family is indeed conservative, but they have been largely at odds with their son in recent years due to his increasing support for far-left views.

Robinson — who was living with a far-left, transgender romantic partner who “hated” Christians and conservatives — told his partner that Kirk’s views on transgenderism were “hateful” when asked why he carried out the attack. Officials, including Utah Governor Spencer Cox, have confirmed, citing the overwhelming evidence, that Robinson subscribed to “leftist” views.

The day of a shooting, Robinson messaged his partner and told him to “drop what you are doing, look under my keyboard,” according to charging documents.

The roommate found a note underneath Robinson’s keyboard that read, “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it,” the documents added.

Prosecutors also revealed additional conversation between the two men in the immediate aftermath of the shooting. “I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out,” one of the messages read. When asked how long he had been planning the attack, Robinson’s roommate said he had been doing so for “a little over a week.”

Federal and state law enforcement agencies are also investigating several left-wing groups in Utah to determine whether any of them had advanced knowledge of the shooter’s plans, or if they assisted him after the fact. One of the groups in question deleted its social media presence immediately after the shooting, according to a report from Axios.

In addition, the suspected gunman engraved a message reading “hey fascist, catch” and another that referenced an Italian communist song that has become popular among Antifa-linked groups on shell casings.

Given the overwhelming evidence against Kimmel’s baseless claims, a number of conservatives and critics are calling for him to be fired. “They lie so easily. You almost have to admire it,” said Fox News columnist David Marcus.

“The total fiction that Charlie’s assassin is a right winger (he’s a left-winger) has been swallowed whole across vast swaths of the Left — so much so that they’re self-righteously & falsely lecturing conservatives for understanding actual reality. Also, this is a ‘comedy’ show,” Fox News contributor and conservative pundit Guy Benson posted on X.

Conservative political strategist Jake Blum called on Kimmel to retract the deliberate lie in tonight’s monologue. “If [Jimmy Kimmel] doesn’t clarify tonight, he absolutely needs to be fired. Sickest media disinformation campaign of all time,” he wrote.
