Bad News for Barry: Former Advisor Declares ‘Obama Coalition Is Gone’ in Florida

Bad news for former President, and most divisive political figure in our lifetime, Barack Obama. According to his former advisor David Plouffe, the so-called Obama coalition of Hispanics is gone. After the historic, significant beatdowns doled out by Ron Desantis, Marco Rubio and every Republican on the ballot, the once airtight stronghold the left had in Florida, particularly South Florida, is no more.

Whi is this significant? South Florida is a heavily populated Hispanic area, especially in Dade County and Miami. Many of these folks are of Cuban heritage. The Democrats have long considered the Hispanic vote as automatic, but the domination even into Dade County by the GOP marks a huge landscape shirt in Florida, making the state now completely red.

After early results saw huge gains for Republican candidates in Florida, former President Obama adviser, David Plouffe, admitted the “Obama coalition” has been wiped out in the state.

Plouffe appeared as a guest on MSNBC’s live coverage of the 2022 midterm elections Tuesday, where he commented on Republicans dominating the state.

Early reports showed Republican candidates such as Sen. Marco Rubio and Gov. Ron DeSantis leading in the ordinarily left-leaning Miami-Dade County, much to the surprise of the network’s panel.

The left has taken the Hispanic vote for granted for decades, much like the black vote. While the GOP has only been able to chip little by little at the black vote, the Hispanic community has swung much more quickly. The far-left policies of the Biden administration have helped to hasten that shift.

The shift was large enough for Plouffe to acknowledge that the Hispanic vote, namely Cuban Americans, has likely shifted to Republicans, causing a “catastrophic” situation for the Democratic Party.

“In Florida, it’s catastrophic. Obviously, we saw greater urgency in 20 in the presidential race. Let’s remember, Barack Obama won in 2012, basically tied the Cuban vote, got over 77% of Hispanic votes. The Obama coalition in Florida is gone. We have to rebuild it now,” Plouffe said.

It’s not hard to understand why Hispanics are turning away from Democrats in droves. Historically Hispanics just aren’t down with the lgbtq air force or the far-left indoctrination of kids. Crime is also a big deal in their community, and the disastrous “defund the police” movement is not popular.

Perhaps most alarming for the left is the shift in electoral votes that will now almost automatically go to the GOP in 2024.

“A look at the Electoral College chessboard, if you’re looking ahead to 24, if you see those 29 electoral votes from the very beginning, it gives the Republicans a huge advantage. If you look at these numbers tonight, you’re going to be hard-pressed to mat a competitive campaign. Now, the state at the economy, who the Republicans nominate, there’s a lot that goes into that but talk about change over in ten years, it is historically meaningful what’s happening.”

It’s over for the Dems in Florida. The lies and empty promises of the Obama administration have finally been replaced by real change. Hopefully western border states can follow suit in the coming days.
