REPORT: Pentagon Planning ‘Final Blow’ To End Iran War For Good
President Donald Trump is weighing a slate of military options against Iran as tensions spike, with Pentagon planners drafting scenarios for what officials describe as a potential “massive final blow.”
According to Axios, Trump has been presented with four possible paths, including deploying U.S. troops and launching a ground operation targeting Kharg Island, a critical hub in Iran’s oil network.
The proposals, described by White House officials as “hypothetical,” come as Trump insists Iranian officials are scrambling to cut a deal, even as Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, publicly denies any negotiations are underway.
Pentagon planners have outlined options that include invading or blockading Kharg Island, seizing Larak Island — which plays a role in controlling the Strait of Hormuz — and taking control of Abu Musa along with two smaller Iranian-held islands near the key shipping lane. Another option would focus on intercepting and seizing vessels exporting Iranian oil, U.S. officials told Axios.

Separate plans are also on the table for securing enriched uranium inside Iran’s nuclear facilities, potentially involving boots on the ground. An alternative proposal calls for a sweeping airstrike campaign targeting those sites without a ground invasion.

Trump has not signed off on any of the options, but officials say he is prepared to ramp up military action if talks with Tehran stall.
The Independent said it has reached out to both the Pentagon and the White House for comment.
Trump vented his frustration Thursday in a Truth Social post, blasting Iranian negotiators as “very different and strange.”
“They are “begging” us to make a deal, which they should be doing since they have been militarily obliterated, with zero chance of a comeback, and yet they publicly state that they are only “looking at our proposal.” WRONG!!!” Trump fumed. “They better get serious soon, before it is too late, because once that happens, there is NO TURNING BACK, and it won’t be pretty!”
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt doubled down on that warning during a Wednesday briefing, making clear the administration sees little room for delay.
“The President doesn’t bluff and he is ready to unleash hell. Iran shouldn’t miscalculate again…” Leavitt said. “Any violence beyond this point will be because the Iranian regime… refuses to come to a deal.”
