BREAKING: Tiger Woods Arrested After ‘Rollover’ Accident

on

Golf legend Tiger Woods was arrested on suspicion of DUI on Friday after a rollover crash near his Jupiter Island home, authorities said.

The crash happened just before 2 p.m. near 281 Beach Road, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. Video from the scene showed a Range Rover flipped onto its side.

Sheriff John Budensiek said during a Friday evening news conference that Woods did not appear to be injured.

Budensiek said Woods complied with a breathalyzer but refused to take a urine test. He now faces misdemeanor charges and will be held in the Martin County Jail for at least eight hours.

Officials earlier said the crash involved two vehicles, with one overturning. One person was listed in stable condition, while another declined transport to a hospital. Authorities said there were no serious injuries reported.

The arrest adds to a troubling history behind the wheel for Woods. In 2017, he was arrested in Palm Beach County on suspicion of driving under the influence and later pleaded guilty to reckless driving, agreeing to pay a $250 fine and attend DUI school.

Woods also survived a devastating single-car crash in California in 2021 that left him with multiple leg injuries and required extensive recovery.

The timing could throw a wrench into what had been shaping up as a comeback. Woods had been gearing up for a return to competitive golf after years of injuries, practicing regularly and hinting at appearances in upcoming events. Any new legal or physical setback now could derail that push, raising fresh questions about when — or if — he’ll be back on the course.
