‘SIGNIFICANT BLOW’: Top IRGC Commander Eliminated By Precision Airstrike

Israel says it has taken out one of Iran’s top intelligence figures in a targeted strike, marking a major hit to Tehran’s security apparatus.

The Israel Defense Forces said Brig. Gen. Majid Khademi, intelligence chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was killed in what officials described as a precision operation. An Israeli official added that Quds Force special operations commander Asghar Bagheri was also eliminated in the same strike, though that has not been formally confirmed by Israel.

In a statement posted on X, the IDF accused Khademi of playing a central role in advancing terror plots abroad while overseeing surveillance of Iranian citizens during the regime’s crackdown on protests.

“Khademi wasn’t just any figure, he was effectively No. 2 within the IRGC, one of the few senior commanders who managed to survive multiple waves of Israeli and American targeting over the past year — until now,” a senior Israeli official told Fox News. “He kept moving, relocating, but ultimately he was hunted down and eliminated.

“He oversaw an intelligence apparatus that repeatedly failed to detect or prevent major Israeli and U.S. operations, including a series of strategic surprises that exposed deep vulnerabilities inside Iran’s security system.”

The same official said Khademi was “deeply involved in attempts to penetrate U.S. systems, including efforts to breach the Pentagon,” and that he “coordinated extensively with Russia.”

“His removal marks a significant blow to Iran’s intelligence leadership at a time when the regime is already under sustained pressure,” the official added.

Bagheri was also killed in the strike, according to the Israeli official, though the IDF has not publicly confirmed his death.

“Bagheri was directly involved in recruiting agents across the Middle East and orchestrating attacks against American targets in Iraq and Syria — including operations that led to U.S. casualties,” the senior official told Fox News.

Khademi spent decades rising through Iran’s intelligence and counter-espionage ranks. Before becoming IRGC intelligence chief, he led the Guard’s Intelligence Protection Organization, which handles internal surveillance and counterintelligence, and held senior posts in Iran’s defense ministry.

The IRGC’s intelligence arm is one of the regime’s most powerful security bodies, tasked with monitoring domestic dissent and countering foreign influence, often operating alongside Iran’s civilian intelligence services.
