Kai Trump Shares Emotional Video With Her Fans: ‘Struggling Right Now’

Kai Trump gave fans an emotional look at a major life transition as she prepared to leave home and begin her freshman year at the University of Miami.

The 18-year-old granddaughter of President Donald Trump documented her final days in Jupiter, Florida, before moving to Miami in a YouTube vlog posted over the weekend.

The aspiring professional golfer opened the video with footage of herself crying behind the wheel as she prepared to say goodbye to family and friends.

“I’m not a very emotional person at all, so this is like really weird for me to cry,” Kai said, noting that she has “only cried a few times” in her life.

She admitted that the reality of leaving home was beginning to hit her.

“I think knowing that I have to say goodbye to everyone tonight really, really sucks,” President Donald Trump’s granddaughter continued. “I’m struggling right now, just thinking about it.”

Despite the tears, Kai also made clear that she was looking forward to the next stage of her life.

She told viewers, “I’m moving on. … It happens to everyone. It’s time to move on.”

Kai chose not to film the actual goodbyes with her family and friends, saying she wanted to be fully present for the emotional moment.

“It was just, like, sad. I just wanted to say goodbye. It was, like, hard to film because I wanted to be, like, present with my family, so I just didn’t film it.”

Her mother, Vanessa Trump, helped with the move and shopping for Kai’s new apartment in Miami.

Kai shared portions of the experience on social media, including the exhausting process of getting everything ready before classes began.

“I’m totally exhausted from going to her apartment, coming back and forth and moving everything,” Vanessa said in the social media upload.

“We spent HOURS shopping for everything I could possibly need for my apartment and getting ready for this new chapter of college life!” Kai told her followers. “So thankful my mom was there to do it all with me.”

Kai, who committed to the University of Miami golf team nearly two years before graduating high school, also praised her mother for being by her side throughout the move.

“She truly is the BEST mom, and I’m so grateful for her.”

Kai later said Vanessa was “definitely getting emotional because she got quiet.”

Vanessa, however, managed to find some humor in the milestone.

“I think this is amazing. One child out and four more to go.”

Kai is the oldest of Vanessa and Donald Trump Jr.’s five children, alongside Donald III, Tristan, Spencer and Chloe.

For Kai, the move marks the beginning of a new chapter both academically and athletically as she joins the University of Miami golf program and begins college life away from home.
