Kai Trump says her mother, Vanessa Trump, is recovering well after surgery as she continues treatment in her battle with breast cancer.

“My mom’s doing good,” the 19-year-old told Page Six on the red carpet at the 2026 ESPY Awards at Lincoln Center in New York City on Wednesday.

“She’s doing better,” Kai added.

The University of Miami golf commit appeared upbeat while speaking briefly about her mother, 48, during the star-studded event.

Kai, who will begin classes this fall while competing on the Hurricanes’ women’s golf team, also offered an update during an appearance on Fox & Friends Thursday, calling her mother a “fighter.”

“She’s doing better. Obviously, radiation takes a toll on your body, but she’s doing better and feeling better. She’s been a little tired, but yeah — she’s a fighter,” Kai said.

Kai also shared some of the advice she receives from her grandfather, President Donald Trump, when they’re on the golf course.

“Enjoy every moment of it. It’s going to be rocky, but enjoy every moment of it,” she said he tells her.

She also revealed the guidance she gets from golf legend Tiger Woods, who is dating Vanessa.

“Be yourself, trust the process,” Kai said Woods tells her.

Vanessa announced in May that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, sharing the news in a lengthy Instagram post.

“While this isn’t the news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan,” she wrote. “I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me.”

Weeks later, Vanessa was photographed smiling while shopping with Kai at a mall in West Palm Beach, Florida.

In June, she revealed she had undergone surgery and was recovering.

“Over the past four weeks, I’ve been recovering from surgery, and I’m grateful to be healing and moving forward,” she wrote.

“Soon, I’ll be starting the second stage of my treatment,” the mother of five added, without providing additional details.

Page Six previously reported that Woods, who began dating Vanessa in early 2025, has remained by her side throughout her treatment.

“He’s proud of how positive she’s stayed and how she’s handling everything so far,” an insider told the outlet. “She’s been so strong, and he truly believes she’s going to be OK. He’s just trying to support her however he can right now.”

Vanessa was married to Donald Trump Jr. from 2005 until their divorce was finalized in 2018. The former couple shares five children: Kai, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer, and Chloe.
