Fox News Star Floats Karoline Leavitt As Host
Karoline Leavitt isn’t ruling out a jump from the White House briefing room to Fox News.
The former White House press secretary appeared on Sean Hannity’s prime-time show Thursday night, where the longtime Fox host openly floated the possibility of Leavitt getting a program of her own.
Hannity even came prepared with a name: The Briefing with Karoline Leavitt.
The suggestion came just weeks after Leavitt, 29, walked away from one of the most visible jobs in Washington to spend more time with her two young children. President Donald Trump has yet to name a permanent successor, leaving the White House without a full-time press secretary since her departure.
Hannity brought up Leavitt’s future as the interview came to a close.
“Well, congratulations on your two beautiful children. I saw pictures of them recently, and I know you’re happy. I know it was a hard decision. We’ll talk about it on the podcast next week. How does it sound: The Briefing with Karoline Leavitt? How do you like the sound of that?”
Leavitt didn’t commit to the prospect of her own Fox News show, but she made clear she plans to keep appearing on Hannity’s program.
“Well, Sean, we have had our segment before, you and me. I will continue to join your show anytime you want, that’s for sure. But thank you. My babies are cute, I will say so myself.”
“Congratulations,” Hannity replied.

Fox News has not announced a show or employment deal with Leavitt.
Still, a move from the White House podium to Fox News would hardly be unprecedented.
Dana Perino served as White House press secretary under President George W. Bush before joining Fox News as a contributor in 2009. She later became a founding co-host of The Five and now co-anchors America’s Newsroom.

Kayleigh McEnany made a similar transition after serving as Trump’s final press secretary during his first term. McEnany joined Fox News in March 2021 and went on to become a co-host of Outnumbered and host of Saturday in America.
Leavitt already has deep ties to Trump’s political operation.
She entered Trump’s orbit during his first administration, rising from a White House internship to an assistant press secretary position under McEnany. She later worked for Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik before launching her own congressional bid in New Hampshire.
After falling short in that race, Leavitt joined the Trump-aligned MAGA Inc. super PAC. She returned to Trump’s operation as national press secretary for his successful 2024 presidential campaign before being tapped to take over the White House briefing room.
At just 27, Leavitt became the youngest White House press secretary in U.S. history.
Her tenure took another unusual turn this year when she became the first sitting White House press secretary to give birth while holding the job. Leavitt welcomed her daughter, Viviana, on May 1 and returned to the briefing-room podium in July.
By August, however, Leavitt had decided to step away.
She described leaving the White House as a “bittersweet decision,” saying she could not give both the demanding job and her children the attention they deserved.
Leavitt left the White House on Aug. 27 but did not cut ties with Trump’s political operation. She returned to MAGA Inc. and has remained involved as an outside adviser to the president.
Her Thursday appearance on Hannity marked another high-profile turn in front of the cameras, with the Fox host publicly floating a potential television future for Trump’s former press secretary.
