House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) pointed to “disturbing” new findings in his investigation into the Biden family’s business affairs, saying he is close to announcing depositions that could have major implications for President Joe Biden, his embattled son Hunter, and other family members.

Rep. Comer, speaking on Fox News, said his committee has asked the U.S. Treasury Department for access to bank records that he believes “would have more information on the potential bribery charges” that House Republicans continue to investigate following the discovery of an internal FBI document that claims the president was the recipient of a bribe from a Ukrainian official.

“Our investigation is moving along. We’re entering the deposition phase. We’re going to have Devon Archer, who was the first person that was involved in the Hunter Biden business dealings… We have a list that’s a who’s who of those who were involved in the Biden organization that we plan on deposing throughout the summer,” said Rep. Comer.

Asked to comment on the discovery of cocaine at the White House, which the Oversight Committee has jurisdiction over, and whether the Secret Service will share details of its investigation into the matter, Comer smiled.

“The first step is we’ve requested a briefing from the Secret Service… We have concerns about national security risks, obviously… With all the money and all the security that we have around the White House, something like this should never happen and we’re concerned about the fact that the president’s son who we’ve said for seven months now is a risk to our national security, is spending so much time in the White House,” Rep. Comer added.

House Republicans have spent most of the year enmeshed in bank records pertaining to Hunter Biden’s business dealings, and Rep. Comer has previously pointed to nine members of the president’s family he claims were involved in transactions with foreign companies for which the first son recently pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of tax fraud. The House Oversight chair has been successful in dragging FBI Director Christopher Wray in for questioning and subpoenaing the Bureau’s investigatory documents of the president’s son. Rep. Comer has also uncovered that Hunter Biden was regularly emailing the White House while his father served as vice president, offering the president ample opportunity to be updated about his son’s business activities. The president has recently denied having any involvement.
