The social media giant Twitter has rolled out its much-anticipated ad revenue-sharing feature. An initiative long-promised by tech mogul and Twitter’s CEO, Elon Musk, the move aims to bolster the platform’s creator economy and is being celebrated by conservative influencers who have received their first checks.

Elon Musk had hinted at the revenue payout plans as early as February. In an exciting twist, Musk confirmed that payments to content creators would be cumulative from when he first made the promise.

Benny Johnson, a renowned conservative commentator and content creator, revealed the actuality of Twitter’s monetization for creators in a tweet. He disclosed that he had received a check of $10,000 from Twitter as part of the new ad revenue sharing scheme. Johnson stated that he would never share personal financial information but did so to highlight the potential opportunities the new system presents for creators.

Ashley St. Clair, another well-known conservative influencer, confirmed the news on her end, disclosing her revenue check of $7,153. For context, St. Clair said that she had generated 328 million tweet impressions in the last 28 days. St. Clair expressed her enthusiasm over the impressive payout numbers and encouraged fellow creators to continue sharing their content on Twitter.

Independent journalist Tim Pool, also known as Timcast, was not one to be left behind. He simply tweeted, “HOLY F*CK @elonmusk thank you, wow,” expressing his excitement and gratitude for the new revenue-sharing initiative.

The ad revenue sharing scheme, now becoming a reality, marks a significant change in Twitter’s monetization model, designed to support creators and keep them engaged with the platform. It also seems to validate Musk’s commitment to fostering the creator economy on Twitter.

It’s a significant step in empowering influencers and creators who rely on social media platforms for their income. The transparency shown by influencers in sharing their revenues may encourage more creators to take advantage of this initiative.

While the rollout of this feature has been met with enthusiasm, especially by conservative influencers, only time will tell how the broader Twitter community will respond to these changes and how it will impact Twitter’s overall growth strategy.
