‘Crawling With Feds’: Former Capitol Police Chief Confirms That Several Federal Agents Were In Jan 6 Crowd

Former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund told Tucker Carlson that the crowd on January 6, 2021 was teeming with federal agents in a previously unseen interview. Footage obtained by the National Pulse confirms previous reports about the contents of the interview.

Earlier this week, the National Pulse released another portion of the interview where Sund stated his belief that the irregularities surrounding the day’s events suggest a “cover-up.”

“If I was allowed to do my job as the chief we wouldn’t be here, this didn’t have to happen,” Sund told Carlson around the 19-minute mark of the conversation. He added that he remains “pissed off” about withheld intelligence and lack of coordination that occurred before and during the electoral certification.

“Everything appears to be a cover up,” he suggested. “Like I said, I’m not a conspiracy theorist …but when you look at the information and intelligence they had, the military had, it’s all watered down. I’m not getting intelligence, I’m denied any support from National Guard in advance. I’m denied National Guard while we’re under attack, for 71 minute,” the longtime law enforcement veteran explained.

In the latest segment of the interview that was never released after Carlson was fired by Fox News, Sund described the large numbers of undercover law enforcement personnel in the crowd on January 6, 2021. Court documents have previously confirmed that a number of D.C. Metropolitan Police officers were present while federal agencies — including the Department of Homeland Security — have issued tacit admissions of their own.

“I had media reach out to me and go, ‘hey, you were aware FBI had undercovers in the crowd.’ I was like, oh no, they would have told me. I had Steve D’Antuono, the head of the Washington Field Office on a call the day before. Didn’t say anything to me about it. And now to see that they allegedly, according to the GAO report, had 18 operatives in the crowd, that’s a lot of operatives,” Sund said.

“So when you look at the intelligence range, which the intelligence is handled differently than any of those big events that we talk about, especially for a big event that we see now, the threat stream that was associated with it. You know, whether it was IMF, World Bank, you remember the 2000, the Bush inaugurations, the violence with that? We would have had an executive briefing with the FBI, would have been called into a skiff, all the local chiefs saying, hey, this is the type of stuff we’re seeing,” he continued.

Sund stressed that the events leading up to the protests were out of the ordinary. The Capitol Police did not hold meetings with the FBI and other federal law enforcement agencies despite such meetings being routine ahead of protests of that nature.

“But you think 18 is a lot for that kind of event?” Carlson asked. “I think so. I mean, I was attending, so in fact, we weren’t aware. And I think DHS is now saying they had a number of HSI, Homeland Security Investigations people in there as well. So it sounds like a number of the intelligence agencies had resources in the crowd.”

“So, it was in the parlance of the internet, it was crawling with feds?” Carlson then followed up. “I would say there’s a fair amount of law enforcement in the crowd. That’s why it now appeared when you add 18, I think DHSI said they had 20, possibly 20 out there, if not more. That started turning into a lot of people,” Sund replied.
