DIVIDER IN CHIEF: Biden Says ‘MAGA Republicans’ Are ‘The Real Problem’ At DNC Reception

While speaking about his recently-announced re-election bid at a Democratic National Committee (DNC) reception on Friday, President Biden stated that “MAGA Republicans” are “the real problem” Americans are facing today.

“The real problem is those MAGA Republicans,” Biden told assembled Democrats. “MAGA Republicans are trying to take us backwards. But together, we’re not going to let them do it. Not an inch back.”

President Biden and top elected Democrats have repeatedly referred to supporters of President Trump as “extreme MAGA Republicans” over the past year. In September, after Biden’s DOJ conducted a raid on Trump’s Mar-A-Lago Estate, the president portrayed “extreme MAGA Republicans” as a national security threat during a dark and divisive speech at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

“As I stand here tonight, equality and democracy are under assault,” Biden said in front of an ominous red backdrop last September. “We do ourselves no favor to pretend otherwise. So, tonight, I’ve come to this place where it all began, to speak as plainly as I can to the nation about the threats we face, about the power we have in our hands to meet these threats and about the incredible future that lies in front of us if only we choose it,” he continued.

“Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundation of our republic,” Biden went on to say. “They refuse to accept the results of a free election, and they’re working right now as I speak in state after state to give power to decide elections in America to partisans and cronies.”

In addition to rehashing the “extreme MAGA Republicans,” line of attack, Biden touted the “Inflation Reduction Act” and the “American Rescue Plan,” in addition to gun control and climate change policy, while speaking at Friday’s DNC reception.

“I’m here tonight to ask your help to help me finish the job. And, folks, here’s the bottom line. It’s very simple: We need you. Our democracy needs you, because this is about our freedoms.” the president said, according to the New York Post.

“Let’s keep growing the economy in the middle — from the middle out and the bottom up. Let’s protect — protect a woman’s right to choose and codify Roe v. Wade,” he later said to applause.
