After President Joe Biden made bizarre comments earlier this week where he recalled a creepy story about a nurse that once tended to him, Twitter had to add a “fact check” assuring shocked social media users the Biden story is real.
In a speech about affordable health care, Biden described, in graphic detail, how a nurse took care of him when he was recovering from surgery. “I had a nurse named Pearl Nelson. She’d come in and do things I don’t think you learn in nursing school,” the president explained.
“She’d whisper in my ear, I couldn’t understand, but she’d whisper, and she’d lean down and actually breathe on me to make sure there was a human connection. She went home and brought back her pillow from her own bed. … I’m not joking,” Biden said awkwardly.

Twitter had to add a “community note” that explained the Biden clip was not a “deep fake” or doctored video made for political satire. “There is a lot of confusion in the responses to this tweet as to whether or not this is a doctored/deepfake video. This is in fact unedited legitimate footage from a Joe Biden speech which took place on 2/28/23,” the Twitter community notes context stated.
Social media users were shocked by the president’s comments. “Very glad we have such a powerful and articulate commander in chief,” one Twitter user commented sarcastically. “He just gets weirder. Every day,” another Twitter user said.
Earlier this month President Biden’s Department of Energy reported COVID-19 likely originated from a Wuhan lb leak.
