Bill Burr Lashes Out At ‘Fu**ing Idiots’ Who Think LA Wildfires Were Mismanaged

Comedian Bill Burr heaped praise upon the Democrat-controlled Government of California over their response to the recent wildfire outbreak, which has widely been slammed as inefficient and incompetent. Despite this, Burr has emerged as one of the few defenders of Los Angeles and state leadership in the aftermath of the blaze, referring to critics as “fu**ing idiots.”

Burr, like tens-of-thousands of Los Angeles residents, was forced to flee when the flames threatened his home. “I got lucky,” he said when asked about the fires on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” adding that the winds moved the blaze away from his home.

“And I think everybody did a great job. Unlike the internet,” he added. “Oh my god, all these fire experts. ‘Why don’t you just fly a helicopter into the ocean?’ I don’t know, because it was 100-knot winds? You want to do that? You want to do that at night, you f—king lunatic?”

Burr then mocked those who believe that the city and state response to the wildfires was mismanaged. “Mismanaged, like, some fu**ing idiot on the internet knows how to manage the worst fire in L.A., sitting there in his underwear.”

After that, Burr turned his attention to those who have speculated that some of the fires could have been set by illegal aliens or homeless people, as the city has a high population of both. At least one man was arrested last week for allegedly starting fires with a blowtorch in the city’s Woodland Hills section. The suspect in the Woodland Hills incident was later identified as an illegal alien, while a second suspected arsonist was arrested in Irwindale, California on Monday.

Irwindale is located roughly 15 miles from Altadena, where the deadly Eaton Fire continues to burn.

Arsonists have also been arrested for starting deadly Southern California wildfires in the past. In June of 2023, a man was apprehended for intentionally starting a deadly wildfire that burned more than 19,000 acres and torched hundreds of buildings.

Despite documented acts of arson both in the past and in the most recent outbreak, Bill Burr mocked those who blame the wildfires on arson, the homeless or illegal aliens. “I love how all the chatter out there is about bans on illegal immigrants and homeless people lighting fires,” the comedian told Jimmy Kimmel. “They light fires every day,” he added. “They’re living outside, it’s f–king cold.”

Burr then continued with his recent trend of praising the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, who was allegedly gunned down outside a Manhattan hotel by 26-year-old Luigi Mangione last year. Mangione allegedly left a manifesto that laid out his disgust with the insurance industry and rationale for the crime.

“You know, and then they’re talking about looting. But CNN and Fox News are not going to bring up the insurance companies that are just gonna keep everybody’s premiums and still give themselves a bonus,” he said to applause from the audience.”Yes! Free Luigi,” he added as the crowd continued to clap.

Bill Burr may believe the wildfire response from state and city officials was adequate, though he appears to be firmly in the minority. As of this report, a Change.org petition calling for the resignation of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has garnered just about 150,000 signatures.

“Basic resources, such as water and emergency services, have been inadequate, and leadership has been nowhere to be found when it was needed most,” the petition reads. Residents went on to demand the immediate resignation of Mayor Bass due to her “failure to lead during this unprecedented crisis.”

Additional demands include a thorough investigation into the city’s wildfire preparedness and any failures that occurred during the response the crisis, a complete accounting of taxpayer funds that go towards disaster preparedeness, and a comprehensive plan to deal with future emergencies.
