BREAKING: Jan. 6th Committee Backs Down on Subpoena, Trump Gloats in Hilarious Post

The January 6th Committee is backing down on one of the most contentious issues it got itself, and by extension Trump, involved in. What issue is that? The Trump subpoena, by which means the Jan. 6th Committee members hoped to drag him before Congress. That’s been withdrawn.

The committee said as much in a letter that was sent to President Trump’s attorney, David Warrington. The letter was written by Rep. Bennie Thompson, a Democrat who is the Chairman of the January 6 Committee, or “Unselect Committee”, as Trump calls it. He said that the subpoena he issued to Trump back in October would no longer be pursued. In his words:

“As you may know, the Select Committee has concluded its hearings, released its final report and will very soon reach its end. In light of the imminent end of our investigation, the Select Committee can no longer pursue the specific information covered by the subpoena.

“Therefore, through this letter, I hereby formally withdraw the subpoena issued to former President Trump, and notify you that he is no longer obligated to comply or produce records in response to said subpoena. We appreciate your engagement with the Select Committee on this matter.”

Former President Donald Trump gloated about the news in a post on Truth Social, saying:

“Was just advised that the Unselect Committee of political Thugs has withdrawn the Subpoena of me concerning the January 6th Protest of the CROOKED 2020 Presidential Election. They probably did so because they knew I did nothing wrong, or they were about to lose in Court. Perhaps the FBI’s involvement in RIGGING the Election played into their decision. In any event, the Subpoena is DEAD!”

This isn’t the first time have fought via letter. Back in October, when the subpoena was announced, Trump detonated on Rep. Thompson in a 14 page long letter, beginning by saying:

“THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2020 WAS RIGGED AND STOLEN!

“The same group of Radical Left Democrats who utilized their Majority position in Congress to create the fiction of Russia, Russia, Russia, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, the $48 Million Mueller Report (which ended in No Collusion!), Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine, the atrocious and illegal Spying on my
Campaign, and so much more, are the people who created this Committee of highly partisan political Hacks and Thugs whose sole function is to destroy the lives of many hard-working American Patriots, whose records in life have been unblemished until this point of attempted ruination. The double standard of the
Unselects between what has taken place on the “RIGHT,” and what has taken place with Radical Left, lawless groups such as Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and others, is startling and will never be acceptable, even to those who will be writing the history of what you have done to America.

And as Trump’s trouble on that subpoena front coming to an end, he went ahead and began a new battle, this one over the FBI and how it handled the Hunter Biden situation in the runup to 2020. Posting about that on Truth Social as well, Trump said:

It has just been learned that the FBI Office that is “investigating” Hunter Biden sent many censorship requests to keep all of his bad news confidential just prior to the 2020 Election. In other words, the exact same people that were “investigating him” were making sure that he doesn’t get any bad publicity—“Only good publicity, please.” This is an outrageous disgrace, & the same group that is after me on the Boxes Hoax, the January 6th Unselect Committee Hoax, & the many past Hoaxes and Scams.
