BREAKING: Tyler Robinson’s Chilling Last Messages With ‘Lover’ Revealed
Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah man who has been accused of murdering conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has been formally charged with a slew of offenses, including aggravated murder. When formally announcing the charges, prosecutors confirmed that they intend to seek the death penalty and shared a number of new pieces of evidence in the case.
Robinson, 22, has also been charged with felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, obstruction of justice, two counts of witness tampering and commission of a violent offense in the presence of a child, Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray announced on Tuesday. Gray described the Kirk murder as an “American strategy” and stressed that pursuing the death penalty is not a decision that was taken lightly.
“Robinson’s father reported that when his wife showed him the surveillance image of the suspected shooter in the news, he agreed it looked like their son,” according to the charging documents. When Robinson’s father saw photos of the weapon recovered by the FBI, he noticed that it looked like a rifle that was given to Tyler as a gift and asked his son to send a photo of the weapon.
Tyler did not respond to the message, charging documents state.

When his parents eventually got in touch with Robinson, he indicated that he intended to take his own life rather than turn himself in. Robinson’s father then put him in touch with a youth pastor, who convinced him to turn himself in. “As they discussed the situation, Robinson implied that he was the shooter and stated that he couldn’t go to jail and just wanted to end it,” the charging documents said.
His parents then asked why he decided to murder Kirk, at which point he said that, “there is too much evil and the guy [Charlie Kirk] spreads too much hate,” prosecutors said.
While speaking with his transgender roommate and romantic partner — a 22-year-old transgender individual who “hated” Christians and conservatives — Robinson reiterated that he killed Kirk due to his “hateful” views on transgenderism. The day of a shooting, Robinson messaged his partner and told him to “drop what you are doing, look under my keyboard,” according to charging documents.
The roommate found a note underneath Robinson’s keyboard that read, “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it,” the documents added.
Prosecutors also revealed additional conversation between the two men in the immediate aftermath of the shooting. “I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out,” one of the messages read. When asked how long he had been planning the attack, Robinson’s roommate said he had been doing so for “a little over a week.”
Investigators have described Twiggs as “cooperative” with the investigation as they continue to comb through electronic devices and messages in a Discord chat with a number of friends.
Federal and state law enforcement agencies are also investigating several left-wing groups in Utah to determine whether any of them had advanced knowledge of the shooter’s plans, or if they assisted him after the fact. One of the groups in question deleted its social media presence immediately after the shooting, according to a report from Axios.
The suspected gunman also engraved a message reading “hey fascist, catch” and another that referenced an Italian communist song that has become popular among Antifa-linked groups on shell casings.
