Entertainment news sources Tuesday revealed that all is not well in the Jenner family, with reports that Caitlyn Jenner’s attorneys have threatened to take legal action against the 74-year-old Fox News contributor’s son Brandon Jenner, 42. Allegedly, Brandon used Caitlyn’s likeness and name without authorization to promote his upcoming television series, “At Home With The Jenners.”
According to TMZ, Brandon’s upcoming television show on “Unchainged TV” reportedly teased and advertised that his father would be featured on the show, which is currently three episodes into its first season. However, no such appearances were authorized by Caitlyn and the teasers were allegedly made without his knowledge or consent. Caitlyn is presently in negotiations with Fox to renew his position as a contributor for the network with particular urgency due to the upcoming Olympics and a contentious presidential election.
The outlet reported that Caitlyn’s legal team reached out to the new show’s production team and demanded that his image and name be stricken from all future advertising and production. It was also revealed that Caitlyn was even featured in at least one scene of the show. TMZ’s sources noted that Brandon’s team has complied, editing out Caitlyn’s unknowing appearance.
The TMZ source noted that while Caitlyn reportedly wishes Brandon nothing but success in the new show, Jenner was angered by the recklessness of using image and name and the serious jeopardy it placed on the ongoing negotiations with Fox. Such appearances on a reality show featured by a competing network could present a very serious breach of contract. The elder Jenner has been employed by Fox News as a paid commentator since 2022. Fox News told The Daily Mail that Jenner will offer commentary across the network’s various platforms.
Suzanne Scott, Fox News Media CEO said, “Caitlyn’s story is an inspiration to us all,” going on to emphasize, “She is a trailblazer in the LGBTQ+ community and her illustrious career spans a variety of fields that will be a tremendous asset for our audience.”
Jenner has continued to espouse several conservative views even following his surgical alterations, name change, and adoption of a feminine public persona. A spokesman for Jenner told PageSix,
“Caitlyn is proud of her ongoing contract as a Fox News contributor — the only network to employ an openly trans contributor. She reaches the largest cable news audience, bringing a level headed perspective, on protecting women’s sports.”
Although legal action was threatened it appears that the Jenners have handled the dispute behind closed doors and within the family, eliminating the need for litigation.
