CNN Analyst Dismisses Kirk Assassin’s Left-Wing Ideology: ‘Who Cares’

CNN National Security analyst Juliette Kayyem attempted to argue that there was no way to know the ideological leanings of Tyler Robinson, the gunman who murdered Charlie Kirk, despite overwhelming evidence of his left-wing views.

Republican strategist Lance Trover was discussing the evidence pointing to Robinson’s far-left beliefs, including statements from his family, friends and pro-Antifa messaging written on shell casings.

“I heard the congressman on there saying, oh, ‘we need to tone down the rhetoric.’ Well, will the rhetoric get toned down?” Trover said in response to generic calls to end political violence from Democrats. “I mean, again, I go back to what was on the bullet from this kid was ‘fascism.’  And that’s that’s only coming from one side currently in this debate. And it’s on every placard and every poster around the country. I mean, I think it’s a valid question. But are they going to live up to what they say they’re going to do with the ‘Nazi’ and the ‘fascism’ and the like?”

Kayyem then jumped in to claim that there is no way to “know the meaning of his message,” which drew a laugh from Trover. “Bella Ciao is an anti-fascist thing, It said, ‘fascist, catch this,'” he added in reference to the messages found on shell casings.

The CNN analyst then attempted to sidestep Robinson’s left-wing messaging by baselessly insinuating that his parents’ Republican political leanings could have influenced him. “Why are we debating this? This is what I’m talking about,” Trover responded before Kayyem told him to be quiet so she could make “her point.”

“The point is, who cares? A man was killed. And you have yet to say political violence is bad, period. That’s all that people want from the president,” she said.

On Saturday morning, Fox News reported that Robinson was living with a “transgender partner” who is currently cooperating with the FBI. “Sources tell me the FBI had texts and other communications between Robinson and the individual that helped FBI authorities solidify that Robinson was indeed the shooter,” Fox News’ Brooke Singman reported.

According to the FBI, Robinson engraved far-left, Antifa-aligned messages on shell casings, which were recovered at the crime scene. Messages include “Hey fascist, catch” and words from the Italian communist song Bella Ciao, which has been widely adopted by Antifa-aligned extremist groups.

He also wrote “Notices. Bulges. OWO,” which has been widely interpreted as a nod to his pro transgender views. Robinson was also active on the social media platform Discord, a messaging app that has been linked to a number of past mass shootings.
