Fani Willis Forced To Personally Beg Attorneys To Join Dysfunctional DA’s Office
Disgraced Georgia prosecutor Fani Willis has seen an exodus from her office since last year’s failed prosecution of President Donald Trump.
A hiring dearth has become so dire that Willis has taken to making public pleas for new attorneys to consider joining Fulton County’s Office of the District Attorney. The proactive practice is an embarrassing moment for Willis since she saw her case against Trump killed by his election last year.
“We’re hiring Assistant District Attorneys!” reads a message directly from Willis posted to LinkedIn on Monday.
“If you’re a passionate prosecutor ready to serve the people of Fulton County with integrity and excellence, we want to hear from you.”
Willis rose to prominence off her brazen prosecution of Trump, which included his first and only mugshot across four criminal cases. However, Willis’s case fell apart when it came to light that she hired a romantic partner as her assistant prosecutor and paid him upward of $700,000.
A Georgia appeals court ultimately threw Willis off the case, and whistleblowers within her office came forward alleging she was diverting funds from an anti-gang unit to pay her partner, Nathan Wade, and others involved in the Trump prosecution.

Low morale within Willis’s office comes as she publicly feuds with Fulton County officials who allocate her budget. She recently accused the county commissioners of lying during an interview with Capital B Atlanta magazine when they disputed a claim by Willis that a lack of funding has left over 100 individuals in jail without charges for more than 90 days.
Willis had asked for a $7 million budget increase but was given far less, the Daily Caller reported.
Throughout 2024 Willis traded barbs with Trump, accusing him and other critics of “playing the race card” in fiery speeches that were later used against her by co-defendants in Trump’s case. The president appeared to enjoy holding her up as a Democratic foil, mocking her name and raising money off his mugshot.
Trump and 18 co-defendants were charged in 2023 with efforts to undo Georgia’s 2020 election result. While Trump and many of the individuals denied wrongdoing, several former associates of Trump reached plea deals with Willis which saw them promise to testify against their former peers.
But Trump’s election in November effectively killed the trial, as did a Supreme Court decision last year concluding that current and former U.S. presidents are immune from prosecution for nearly all actions taken while they are in office.
Willis handily won her reelection last year, defeating a Republican opponent 68% to 31% for the Atlanta-anchored county seat.
