Fulton County Indictment Amounts To ‘Seditious Conspiracy,’ Hageman Says
U.S. Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-WY) accused Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis of “seditious conspiracy” after her office announced a 41-count indictment of former President Donald Trump and 18 of his advisors, staffers and lawyers over objections to the 2020 election in Georgia.
“Late last night, in one of the most corrupt counties in Georgia, Democrat DAs raised more fraudulent charges against President Trump,” Hageman wrote in a tweet Tuesday. “They’re trying to deny Americans the right to a free and fair election.”
“This is not just election interference; it is seditious conspiracy and treason,” Hageman asserted.

Hageman — who was elected to represent Wyoming’s lone congressional district in 2022 after obliterating Liz Cheney — was met with overwhelming support. “More of this,” wrote Pro Swing Trader in the top reply to the congresswoman’s tweet.
Responses from long-serving members of Congress such as House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) have not been received as well, however. “Justice should be blind, but Biden has weaponized government against his leading political opponent to interfere in the 2024 election,” McCarthy wrote in response to the latest indictment. “Now a radical DA in Georgia is following Biden’s lead by attacking President Trump and using it to fundraise her political career. Americans see through this desperate sham.”
But strongly worded tweets just don’t seem to be cutting it for the GOP base, most of whom have urged McCarthy to take action against the politicized prosecutions. “What are you doing about it besides tweeting?” wrote Libs of TikTok in response to McCarthy’s post. “Americans see through you only tweeting about it and doing NOTHING else,” said conservative influencer Tim Young.
Many GOP voters have called on McCarthy to get serious about defunding special counsel Jack Smith’s multi-million-dollar investigations — which has been proposed by U.S. Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Andy Ogles (R-TN) — as well as defunding federal law enforcement agencies as a whole. The House speaker has not yet committed to any action, however.
