GOP Senator Unleashes On Biden’s Hypocrisy And Lies Over Medicare Cuts
Senator Roger Marshall of Kansas went after the Biden Administration with a vengeance regarding Medicare and cuts to the Medicare system. Tearing into the administration, he accused it of “hypocrisy” and “fearmongering” over claims that Republicans want to cut Medicare, particularly now that the Biden administration has moved to make deep cuts to Medicare Advantage.
Sen. Marshall’s attack came after Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra went on Twitter to claim that health insurers have been promoting “disinformation” when it comes to the administration’s Medicare Advantage policy. Becerra, posting on Twitter, said:
“Any claim that this Administration is cutting Medicare is categorically false. Leave it to deep-pocketed insurance companies and industry front groups to characterize this year’s proposed increase in Medicare Advantage payments as a pay cut.”
“Disinformation being pushed out by high-paid industry hacks and their allies hurts Medicare beneficiaries and the Medicare Trust Fund”
“Protecting Medicare is a key priority for President Biden and one of our highest priorities at HHS. And that is exactly what we are doing – our job. It’s our job to protect the Medicare program for beneficiaries and faithfully guard taxpayer dollars.”
Well, Sen. Marshall wasn’t having it. Furious over the administration’s lies and hypocrisy, he told Breitbart News “I think that this is just another example of hypocrisy from the White House, that this White House is talking out of both sides of their mouth. This president’s accusing Republicans of wanting to cut Medicare when he’s actually out there cutting Medicare.”
Continuing, Sen. Marshall emphasized why he thinks the Biden Administration is cutting Medicare Advantage, saying “I’m guessing this administration just doesn’t like competition. And right now there’s some pretty good competition out there in the Medicare Advantage field.”
He also accused Biden of “fearmongering” with his accusations about what Republicans want to do to the Medicare system, saying “He loves this fearmongering. He loves to scare people. He loves the chaos. It distracts people from paying attention to the man behind the curtain, like in The Wizard of Oz, which in this case, of course, is the Hunter Biden story. So he wants us all to be thinking about everything else and not paying attention to what he’s really doing.”
