Hilarious: Ingeniously Skewers Greasy Gavin after Newson’s Ridiculous “Freedom” Ad
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis isn’t one to take things lying down, as we can see now that he’s firing back at California Governor Gavin Newsom in the wake of Newsom’s much-ridiculed “freedom” ad about how much better California is than Florida.
As reference, Fox News, describing Greasy Gavin’s absurd ad about Florida and California, said:
“Your Republican leaders, they’re banning books,” Newsom says in the ad as images of DeSantis play on the screen. The California Democrat goes on to say Republican governors are also “making it harder to vote, restricting speech in classrooms, even criminalizing women and doctors.”
[…]Newsom then calls on Floridians to “join the fight” against DeSantis, but also quips that the state’s residents are welcome to move to California.
“I urge all of you living in Florida to join the fight,” Newsom says, adding that Floridians could also “join us in California, where we still believe in freedom.”
“Freedom of speech, freedom to choose, freedom from hate and the freedom to love,” he continues. “Don’t let them take your freedom.”
Watch that ad here:
Well, try as Newsom might to make it look like California is a better place than Florida, the truth of the matter is that tens of thousands of Californians have moved to Florida in recent years, as it’s much more the “free” state than Gavin Newsom’s California, where the Governor dines at the French Laundry while small businesses are locked down.
And so DeSantis hit back hard at Newsom during a recent press conference, blasting him for treating California’s citizens like peasants and pointing out that far more Californians are fleeing to Florida than vice versa. In his words:
“Everybody wants to talk about me and Florida. I’m just sitting here, little old me, doing my job. I can just tell you this. I was born and raised in this state and until the last few years, I rarely, if ever, saw a California license plate in the state of Florida. You now see a lot of them. I can tell you if you go to California, you ain’t seeing very many Florida license plates.
“As he was locking down his citizens, he would then go and have these extravagant dinners at the French Laundry, to basically rub his citizens’ noses in the fact that he was treating them like peasants.”
And DeSantis didn’t end there. He went on to slam California for being so overrun by criminals and overtaken with crime, saying:
“We would never allow what’s happened in places like San Francisco and LA, where these areas have been destroyed with drugs and crime and homeless [being allowed] to happen. We take that seriously. And we believe when people commit crimes, they belong behind bars, not released back onto the street.”
Greasy Gavin has, however, allowed it, turning some of America’s greatest cities into hellholes overrun with criminals as law-abiding citizens pay sky-high taxes. And so Californians are fleeing Newsom’s “freedom” for what’s provided by DeSantis.
