Jasmine Crockett Snaps After Dem Senator Mocks Her Cringeworthy Social Media Post
U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) lashed out at a Democratic Senator after he joined in on the mockery of a recent “choose your fighter” video posted by Crockett and other progressive Democrats.
The cringeworthy TikTok post featured Reps. Crockett, Ocasio Cortex (D-NY), Underwood (D-IL), Clark (D-MA), Chu (D-CA) and Lee (D-NV), all of whom pretended to be video game characters. The congresswoman in the video can be seen bouncing up and down as if they were video game characters in the style of a 90’s Mortal Kombat game.
Much like Mortal Kombat and games like it, each congresswoman’s “character” was complete with attributes and special abilities. Crockett’s section described her as a public defender/attorney and “not a morning person.”
The video, which was released just after the Democrat Party’s unhinged behavior during President Trump’s joint address to Congress, has been widely mocked on social media.
“Democrats Not Be Cringe Challenge,” the White House rapid response social media account posted on X. “Level: Impossible.”
“There are just some people who don’t have anyone in their lives willing to tell them to stop,” conservative commentator Ryan James Girdusky added.
While the mockery and criticism has largely come from conservatives, Freshman Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) also shared his thoughts on the painfully unfunny video. Fetterman emerged as one of the few Senate Democrats who criticized Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and his plan to shut down the government, stating that he had no leverage.
“Democrats keep showing up at every knife fight with a casserole. You know, and they have these cheesy paddles,” he said in reference to signs held up by Democrat lawmakers during Trump’s address. “And then, you know, pick your fighter cheeseball stuff. You know, where’s your messaging? And if you think now you’re tough to shut the government down, then how do you get back, because again, millions of Americans are gonna be impacted. A-lot of them aren’t gonna get paid. But they all get paid.”
Fetterman’s comments did not go over well with Rep. Crockett, who erupted into a tirade over the senator’s casual clothing choices while speaking with CNN’s Jake Tapper.
“He’s not the one to talk about anything. I mean, this is a guy that doesn‘t seemingly want to own a suit. I‘m not really sure, but I don‘t show up in hoodies when I‘m going on the floor,” she said, explaining that an influencer asked her to do the video. “When she asked me to jump, I said, did you ask my older colleagues to do this? Because I feel like you‘re picking on me because you think that my knees are a little younger, and I did not know who all was in this particular trend whatsoever. And I think that it is important that people see that we’re real people.”
Crockett, like many progressive Democrats, has done a complete reversal after years of criticizing Republicans for government shutdown threats. Now, she has been one of the most outspoken critics of Minority Leader Schumer, accusing him of “caving” to Republicans by refusing to shut down the government.
“And even if that means that there’s a moment to laugh, that’s okay, especially since it seems like we’re doing more crying than anything,” Crockett continued. “We were not on the House floor jumping around at all.”
The far-left congresswoman concluded her rant with another dig at Fetterman’s attire. “So, I just don’t think that he’s necessarily the one to actually have an opinion about this.”
Fetterman has held firm on his criticism of Democratic Party messaging and the “choose your fighter” video in particular, calling it “bizarre.” He has also criticized his colleagues for refusing to stand and clap for Dj Daniels, a young boy battling brain cancer who was honorarily inducted into the Secret Service during the president’s address. Fetterman called the moment “touching” and was perplexed that a majority of Democrats opted not to clap.
