Jessica Tarlov Under Fire For Far-Fetched Tale About Regretful Trump Voter: ‘This Never Happened’
Jessica Tarlov, the contrarian liberal voice of Fox News’ “The Five,” is coming under fire for spinning a fantastical tale about a Trump voter she claims to have recently spoken with who now regrets his choice for president.
Speaking on a left-leaning podcast, the Fox News host recalled receiving a call late last year from a “college student in the midwest” who “reached out” seeking her advice on how to pursue a career in politics. According to Tarlov, the young man quickly began to express his disappointment in Trump after voting for him in November.
“We got on the phone, he emailed me last week, and he said I could share this,” she said, reading from the email. “‘I really appreciated hearing what you have had to say last week on “The Five” and your podcast with Scott… You’ve really opened my mind on current things that are going on as someone who voted for Trump, and you’ve been communicating a lot of frustrations I’ve been feeling.”
She went on, reading from the student: “‘I’ve been feeling alongside some family and friends who didn’t expect all the chaos.’ And then he puts in parentheses, ‘not to mention the tariffs as our family owns a small business where all our products are made in China.'”
In her world, the anecdote of a “bro” turning his back on Trump is a sign that the Republican’s popularity is waning with younger voters.
“It only took two weeks. This level of chaos, for him to feel strongly enough that he would write that down,” she added.

Social media users on X accused the “Five” host of concocting an imaginary tale for clicks.
“Of all the things that never happened, this never happened the most,” wrote the popular conservative account Catturd, sharing a clip. No one responding to the post had anything bad to say about Trump, and neither do their friends, family, or neighbors.
“Nobody is regretting their vote.. Not a single person LOL,” one person replied. “Fakest news of the day,” joked another. Several accused Tarlov of “gaslighting” the public with her pretend accounts of corresponding with her viewers.
As the dissenting voice on Fox News popular 5 p.m. EST program, Tarlov is regularly raked over the coals by fellow hosts Greg Gutfeld, Jesse Watters, and others who jump at the chance to call out her criticisms of the Trump administration.
Gutfeld’s recent outburst at Tarlov lamenting the loss of birthright citizenship went viral online after the two got into a sparring match over President Trump’s executive order, which is currently on hold by multiple court orders.
“I think when Donald Trump was talking about it and disparaging people over here, he was talking about undocumented people who come and drop their anchor babies. He wasn’t talking about people who are students here, people who are on H1-B visas–” Tarlov argued before Gutfeld cut in.
“You’re always going to choose this weird exception! The fact is the system is being gamed,” he yelled. “The fact is, Americans voted for Donald Trump because they saw these systems, these institutions, being gamed. The asylum issue, the birthright citizenship issue, the Title IX issue. Every single part of society was being gamed by the left, and finally, Americans got pushed too far.”
Last week, Tarlov took more heat on social media after she tried to blame President Trump for higher-than-expected inflation data for the month of January. Conservative podcaster Michele Tafoya quickly reminded her that inflation is a byproduct of the Biden-Harris administration.
“I genuinely respect @JessicaTarlov… But she knows better than this,” Tafoya wrote on X.
