JUST IN: Hunter-Linked Burisma Lobbyists Worked For Prosecutor That Halted Company’s Corruption Probe

Hunter Biden recommended a certain lobbying firm, Blue Star Strategies, that had ties to the Ukrainian prosecutor that succeeded the one his father, Joe Biden, helped to fire, to his company Burisma Holdings according to The Daily Caller. Emails from the State Department confirmed these facts and also confirm that the American government was aware of these facts. The lobbying firm in fact called George Kent, a State Department official (and a witness in Trump’s 1st impeachment, which was over Ukraine), back in September 2016 about the Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko, the successor to Viktor Shokin (the prosecutor Biden helped to fire who was looking into Burisma).

Kent wrote about that meeting, “Need to give you a heads up that I took a call just now from Sally Painter [the COO] from Blue Star Strategies, the first time we have interacted. I am confident it will be the last…The topic/issue was Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko, and his now cancelled plans to come to Washington – a trip that Blue Star had apparently been arranging.”

He further noted that “Lutsenko told me he did not know who exactly had come to Kyiv and talked to him in July about coming to Washington. He said Blue Star had promised they could arrange access to high levels of the Clinton campaign, including someone who might lead her White House…When Dan Fried called me in the summer, asking if I would be willing to talk to Painter, the subject was [Mykola] Zlochevsky [founder of Burisma], and allegedly the bad reputational deal he was getting. I warned Dan this was a sticky wicket, that Zlochevsky was viewed as corrupt.”

Yet, Blue Star Strategies met with State Department officials at least twice on behalf of Burisma and was paid to “present an explanation of certain adverse proceedings in the U.K. and Ukraine involving Mr. Zlochevsky.” Those adverse proceedings were over corruption charges being lobbed at the company. Hunter Biden was on the board of Burisma and was paid $80,000 a month. It was Hunter who in 2015 gave the lobbying firm his blessing for Burisma to enter into a relationship with Blue Star Strategies.

Mr. Biden wrote to his Burisma employer that “Devon [Archer] and I do feel comfortable with BS and the ability of Sally & Karen to deliver. You should go ahead and sign. Looking forward to getting started on this.” Blue Star Strategies was investigated by the Department of Justice for illicit undisclosed foreign lobbying in 2021.  Yet, the IRS whistleblower, Gary Shapley, observed that this investigation showed signs of politicization given that they sat on the search warrant in September 2020, which was just before the November general election.

After Shokin’s firing, his replacement dropped the charges and investigations into Burisma.
