JUST IN: Jack Black CANCELS Tour After Bandmate Wishes For Trump’s Death
Hollywood funnyman Jack Black has canceled the remaining leg of the tour for his longtime band after a video emerged of a member wishing death upon former President Donald Trump.
The “School of Rock” actor has commanded the metal group, Tenacious D, stretching back to the mid-1990s and during that time counted Kyle Gass as a friend and fellow musician. However, both found themselves in a white-hot spotlight after conservatives on X resurfaced a video from a concert in Sydney where Gass said he would like nothing better for his birthday than for the next shooter to not “miss” when he takes a shot at Trump. The former president narrowly avoided a high-caliber rifle round from an attempted assassination on Saturday.

“Make a wish,” Black said as he presented Gass with a birthday cake on stage. Gass then responded: “Don’t miss Trump next time.” The crowd laughed approvingly at his remark.

The meteoric rise in attention drawn to Gass’s remark, which came just one day after the shooting, prompted Black to issue a statement condemning it and announcing the end of his band’s days on the road this year. “I was blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday,” he wrote on Instagram. “I would never condone hate speech or political violence in any form.”
“After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold. I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding,” the post concluded.

Black may not be as “grateful” as President Trump, who on Monday credited his Secret Service protection with saving his life after 20-year-old Thomas Crooks was able to come within an inch of killing him with a high-caliber rifle. Conservatives online have been on the prowl for statements by liberals and allies of President Joe Biden they could claim helped catalyze a climate where the deranged gunman felt emboldened to make the attempt. Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH), who Trump picked as his running mate on Tuesday, following the shooting immediately denounced Democrats for making years of statements about Trump’s so-called extremism, saying their rhetoric increased the likelihood of such a scenario occurring.
Among them is U.S. Delegate Stacey Plaskett (D-Virgin Islands), a nonvoting member of Congress, who in June of last year errantly stated she hoped President Trump would be “shot” before quickly correcting herself. Speaking on MSNBC, Plaskett nearly finished sharing her thoughts about the recently dismissed classified documents case against the former president when she said the latest developments “should be terrifying to all Americans, and [Trump] needs to be shot, stopped.”
