Lawmaker Wants To Drop Hammer On Biden For Usurping Congressional Power Over Student Loan Debt; Here’s What He Wants To Do

A conservative congressman, who happens to have a lot of power and sway, believes it is now time for lawmakers to stand up, grow a spine, and launch a lawsuit against President Joe Biden as a means of blocking the cancellation of hundreds of billions of dollars in student loan debt. This congressman said that the basis of the challenge to Biden’s plan would rest on the grounds that it usurps the power of Congress to make laws. And that is right on the money, folks.

According to a report from Just the News, Republican Rep. Ralph Norman of South Carolina said, “I would jump all over this. We will join together.” Norman made the comments during an interview on the “Just the News, Not the Noise,” television program.

Norman went on to say that lawmakers who are at home for summer recess have started to hear a whole lot of anger over Biden’s plan. He suggested that the very conservative and continually growing Freedom Caucus in the House should start to put a plan in motion concerning the litigation.

“I think other members of the Freedom Caucus, and to be honest with you, just members in Congress,” he went on to say during the interview. “We are getting an earful. I think House and Senate because this has really never been done before. And where do you stop it?

“Are you going to start making house payments? Forgiveness of debt? Are you going to do car payments? Where does it end?” He added.

Want to hear something almost deliciously ironic? The questioning of the legality of President Biden’s use of executive power to cancel student loan debt all started over a year ago with comments made by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

“People think that the President of the United States has the power for debt forgiveness. He does not,” Speaker Pelosi stated during a July 2021 news conference. “He can postpone. He can delay. But he does not have that power. That has to be an act of Congress.”

Pelosi, being the good little leftist foot soldier she is, has now changed her mind, however, it’s too late to put the cat back in the bag, as threats of legal challenges are beginning to grow. I mean, who would’ve thought that Pelosi, a raging liberal, would change her mind? Surely this isn’t because she received her marching orders concerning the furtherance of the socialist agenda the Democrats are to be pushing, right?

“The small business lobby Job Creators Network, which successfully challenged Biden’s vaccine mandates for private businesses last year, is among those considering litigation to challenge the debt cancellation,” Just the News reported.

“We know that this is going to hurt the economy. … Up to a trillion dollars here that’s going to hurt the economy,” JCN President Alfredo Ortiz went on to say in a chat with Just the News, going on to break down the rationale for businesses to sue. “We know it’s going to … lead to higher deficits. We know it’s going to lead to higher taxes, because somebody’s got to actually pay the bill. And it’s going to be inflationary.”

Norman then stated that regular, hard-working, everyday Americans know those consequences all too well, along with having questions about fairness.

Biden, he said, “is intent on buying votes, which he thinks he will do.” He also added, “And it’s such a slap in the face of those who didn’t attend college. It’s a slap in the face for those who are … going to be saddled with this debt. And everywhere I go in South Carolina, people are livid about this. It’s not fair.”

“I think the lawsuits will come,” Norman concluded.
