Known for her openness and advocacy for women’s rights, model Amber Rose has now ventured into political territory that has baffled and angered many of her followers. A recent post is a sharp pivot from her previous public denouncements of former President Donald Trump, igniting a storm of comments and reactions not just from fans, but also from other public figures who were quick to express their shock.

With a single photo alongside Donald and Melania Trump, captioned “Trump 2024 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸,” Amber Rose declared her support for the former president on Monday. Within multiple posts, Rose tackled controversial topics such as transgender rights and abortion, aligning her viewpoints with those often championed by the former president.

Rose challenged her audience to reconsider their preconceptions, urging them to “do your research” as she has done. The post led to a flurry of discussions of the sincerity of Biden’s campaign in addressing the needs of Black voters.

The digital furor continued as a video clip of Trump detailing his stance on abortion was shared widely, juxtaposed with Biden’s recent calls for Congress to restore Roe v. Wade. Further stirring the pot, a recent appearance by Biden at a commencement ceremony was also shared online, contrasting sharply with Rose’s endorsement.

“Lmaooo yall think Biden cares about black ppl??? Sad,” Rose wrote in a separate Instagram comment. “Do ur research. I did. I’ll ALWAYS put women first. Y’all want biological men in women’s sports Trump supports the most reasonable compromise on abortion. Stop being brainwashed cuz WE’RE ppl of color. Make your own decisions.”

Amber Rose first gained attention after appearing in music videos for artists such as Ludacris, Young Jeezy, and Kanye West, with whom she also had a high-profile relationship. Born Amber Levonchuck, she is known for her distinctive, shaved head and outspoken personality. Rose has been a vocal advocate for feminist issues, particularly regarding body positivity and slut-shaming.

In 2015, she organized the Amber Rose SlutWalk in Los Angeles, which was aimed at addressing these issues and advocating for gender equality. Additionally, she has appeared on television shows and hosted various public events, further establishing her presence in the entertainment industry. Rose had been critical of Trump’s comments and policies until recently. One user wrote in Rose’s comments: “Imagine being an ‘advocate’ for women’s rights and endorsing Trump and his party who reversed Roe V Wade. Wild.”

“Damn Amber😔… You’re a Bisexual woman of color that runs a movement that stands up for Women’s rights and their power against anyone that abuses it….that’s literally OPPOSITE of what he supports…smdh🙄😤,” said another.

Trump is currently the favorite to win the presidency in November, largely due to rising support in the minority vote. A recent New York Times/Siena College poll saw Trump leading Joe Biden in four of five swing states. One of the troubling numbers for Biden’s re-election chances was his approval rating among Black voters. The poll found that 22 percent of black voters favor Trump, a massive spike from the 2020 election when he secured just 10 percent of the black vote.
