NYT Doctors Hunter Biden’s Quote, Deceptively Edits Out Key Word

The New York Times opted to edit out a key word from Hunter Biden’s press conference today, which was given after the president’s sun decided to defy a congressional subpoena. Hunter stated that his president was not “financially” involved in his business dealings, though the New York Times opted to edit out the word “financially” to instead say that Biden had no involvement with his son’s business dealings.

“Let me state as clearly as I can: my family was not financially involved in my business. Not as a practicing lawyer, not as a board member of Burisma, not in my partnership with a Chinese private businessman, not in my business interests at home and abroad. And certainly not as an artist,” Biden told reporters in Washington D.C. on Wednesday.

Hunter’s statement represents a massive deviation from previous Biden Administration talking points claiming that Biden had no knowledge or involvement with his son’s business dealings. This has shifted over time, as congressional investigators have uncovered bank records detailing millions of dollars worth payments to Biden family members for unspecified reasons.

Investigators have also uncovered thousands of emails written under aliases used by President Biden where Hunter’s business dealings are discussed in detail.

Despite admissions from House Democrats and left-leaning media outlets that Biden had knowledge and involvement with his son’s business dealings, the New York Times decided to edit a key facet of Hunter’s quote.

NYT congressional reporter Luke Broadwater also reported the doctored quote in an X post.

“That wasn’t his quote… It was ‘My father was not *financially involved in my business,’ which is very lawyerly and very different from your quote,” one X user wrote in response to Broadwater’s false quote. “But you know all this. But you did it anyway. Because [the New York Times] is DNC propaganda, not journalism.”

“Regime propagandist gives altered quote. Why?” said another.

The posts are still up as of this report.

Wednesday’s events followed actions taken by House Republicans, who  subpoenaed Hunter Biden and instructed him to sit for a deposition behind closed doors before testifying publicly, something that was done for both of former President Donald Trump’s impeachment hearings. Closed-door depositions allow members to ask far more questions than would be allowed in a public hearing, where members of congress have limited time to speak.

Instead of complying with the subpoena, Hunter Biden delivered a press conference where he accused Republicans of conducting a politically motivated investigation. “For six years, MAGA Republicans… have impugned my character, invaded my privacy, attacked my wife, my children, my family, and my friends. They have ridiculed my struggle with addiction, they have belittled my recovery, and they have tried to dehumanize all to embarrass and damage my father,” the president’s son claimed.

In response, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) has moved to hold Hunter in contempt of Congress.
