PHOTOS: Barack Obama Enjoys Himself On The Golf Course After Death Of Their Longtime Personal Chef
Former President Barrack Obama was seen golfing while his wife Michelle hit the tennis courts in their first public appearances since the death of their longtime personal chef, Tafari Campbell.
Campbell was found dead not far from the Obama family’s sprawling Martha’s Vineyard Estate after reportedly falling off a paddle board and drowning, authorities have said. Campbell, aged 45, met with the accident while paddleboarding on the Great Edgartown Pond on a Sunday night. While he was not alone, the police have refrained from identifying his companion.
The former President emerged from the $12 million property for the first time on Wednesday before heading out again Friday morning, according to a report from the Daily Mail. Michelle was spotted at the Farm Neck country club in nearby Oak Bluffs where she met up with some friends to play tennis.
Later that same morning, Barrack hit the links at the members-only Vineyard Golf Club.

Earlier in the week, the Obamas paid tribute to Campbell, who worked for them for 14 years. “Tafari was a beloved part of our family,” the Obamas said in a statement.
“When we first met him, he was a talented sous chef at the White House — creative and passionate about food, and its ability to bring people together,” the statement continued. “In the years that followed, we got to know him as a warm, fun, extraordinarily kind person who made all of our lives a little brighter.”
Massachusetts State Police confirmed Tuesday that Campbell fell off a paddleboard on Edgartown’s Great Pond. An unidentified accomplice attempted to swim over and rescue him, though the attempt was tragically unsuccessful.
An autopsy revealed he had no external trauma or injuries, police said Wednesday. “The investigation into the death of Tafari Campbell, 45, of Virginia, who was recovered from Edgartown Great Pond on Monday, as well as an initial post-mortem examination by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, found no evidence that the death was suspicious,” said the Massachusetts State Police in a statement.
Campbell’s death has left many unanswered questions as videos uploaded to his Instagram account show him to be a competent swimmer. Another post seemingly uploaded from Aruba was accompanied by the hashtag “StillCantSwim,” however.
Police have confirmed that the 911 call after Campbell’s body was found was made from the vicinity of the Obama estate.
