BREAKING: Rand Paul Breaks His Silence On 2024 Race, Singles Out One Candidate

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) after teasing his statement a day prior, made a damning anti-endorsement of former UN Ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley for the presidency.

In a video statement posted to X, the prominent Libertarian-leaning Republican espoused the virtues of former President Donald Trump and their “long relationship”, the “fiscal conservatism” of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, credited entrepreneur billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy with being “an important voice, “and even said he “listened to and met with” independent Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. But the crux of his statement was a brutal, sound condemnation of Haley.

He first teased his announcement Thursday with a video message captioned, “I’ve stayed out of the Republican Presidential Primary so far – but I’ve seen enough. That’s why tomorrow morning I will have something important to say. Don’t miss it!”

Paul wrote to X, ‘I’ve been watching the GOP Primary closely for a while now, and I like various aspects of several candidates – Republicans like President @realDonaldTrump , Governor @RonDeSantis, and@VivekGRamaswamy. I’m interested in the ideas of some independents too, such as @RobertKennedyJr. As I look over the field, I don’t think I yet have a first choice, but I do know one thing: count me in as #NeverNikki!”

He said of the candidates,

“I am not yet ready to make a decision. But I am ready to make a decision on someone I cannot support. So I’m announcing this morning that I am #NeverNikki. And if you go to NeverNikki.net, you can let her know that you’re not a supporter either.”

Dr. Paul explained:

“I don’t think any informed or knowledgable libertarian or conservative should support Nikki Haley. I’ve seen her attitude toward our interventions overseas. I’ve seen her involvement in the military-industrial complex: eight million dollars being paid to become part of the team. But I’ve also seen her indicate that she thinks you should be registered to use the internet, that people posting ideas anonymously. I think she fails to understand that our republic was founded upon people like Ben Franklin, Sam Adams, Madison, John Jay, and others who posted routinely for fear of the government, they posted routinely anonymously.

And I think that her failure to really understand that or to think that you should register through the government somehow for the internet is something that should disqualify her in the minds of all libertarian-leaning conservatives. So I’m announcing today: I’m #NeverNikki. You can go to NeverNikki.net and sign up and show her that you’re #NeverNikki also. Thanks.”

As previously reported by Trending Politics, while Sen. Paul has largely steered clear of the 2024 primary after announcing he wouldn’t seek the presidency, he’s continued his ongoing crusades against the former head of the NIAID and Biden Chief Medical Advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci, as well as Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas who faces an impeachment inquiry in the House.
