Don Lemon Freaks Out at CNN Co-Host, She is Now “Traumatized” Over Encounter
On December 8, CNN’s Don Lemon reportedly left his co-host Kaitlan Collins “rattled” after an alleged outburst on the set of “CNN This Morning.”
According to reports, the incident occurred after Collins had interrupted Lemon during a live broadcast about President Biden’s decision to release the Russian terrorist and weapons trafficker Viktor Bout in exchange for WNBA player Brittney Griner.
“Don screamed at Kaitlan, who was visibly upset and ran out of the studio,” according to the New York Post.
A source reported that Lemon screamed at Collins in front of other staffers, causing her to become visibly upset and run out of the studio. Another source stated that Collins now wants to be on set with Lemon as little as possible due to the messy situation.
“At this point, Kaitlan wants to be on set with Don as little as possible,” another source told the Post. “It’s messy.”
Lemon was reported to have taken the following day off, as co-host Poppy Harlow informed viewers that he had “the day off.”
According to other sources cited by the New York Post, Don Lemon has had difficulties adapting to his role on “CNN This Morning,” where he has to share the spotlight with two female co-hosts.
One source described Lemon as “bossy” and difficult to work with, stating that he was used to being a solo act and not wanting to be part of a group saying, “Don’s a bossy guy and difficult to work with — even he would admit that,” the source said. “He was a solo act before. He doesn’t want to be in Destiny’s Child.”
Another source close to CNN’s management revealed that Lemon has an ego issue and wants the show to revolve around him. These sources suggest that the recent outburst on set may stem from Lemon’s difficulty in adjusting to his new role and working with others.
CNN released a statement regarding the reports of the incident on the set of “CNN This Morning,” claiming that the situation was being exaggerated and that the three co-hosts, Don Lemon, Kaitlan Collins, and Poppy Harlow, were all friends. CNN stated that the account by the New York Post was overly dramatic and dated back two months.
“The Post’s account is wildly overblown and two months old,” CNN claimed. “Don, Kaitlan and Poppy were friends before they were co-anchors and they remain friends today.”
The network emphasized that the co-hosts were friends before they started working together and still maintain their friendship today.
Separately, Fox News reported that Lemon was absent from the show on Friday after the incident was reported by the New York Post. Collins opened the show by stating that Lemon was on assignment in Los Angeles.
Since its launch in November, the show has seen a decline in ratings.
