House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul, was apparently the victim of a rather violent assault this morning during a home invasion at the couple’s San Francisco residence, a spokesperson for the congresswoman revealed.

“Early this morning, an assailant broke into the Pelosi residence in San Francisco and violently assaulted Mr. Pelosi,” spokesperson Drew Hammill stated, according to Fox News. “The assailant is in custody and the motivation for the attack is under investigation.”  Hammill added, “Mr. Pelosi was taken to the hospital, where he is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full recovery.”

The spokesperson then added, “The Speaker and her family are grateful to the first responders and medical professionals involved, and request privacy at this time.”

Fox News then said that two sources with information concerning the investigation into the attack spoke with the Associated Press saying that Paul Pelosi, 82, was severely beaten during the incident and suffered serious blunt force injuries.

U.S. Capitol Police released a statement saying they are “assisting the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the San Francisco Police with a joint investigation into a break-in at the California home of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.”

“Special Agents with the USCP’s California Field Office quickly arrived on-scene, while a team of investigators from the Department’s Threat Assessment Section was simultaneously dispatched from the East Coast to assist the FBI and the San Francisco Police with a joint investigation,” it continued. “The law enforcement agencies will provide more information when it can be released. “

The statement also revealed that Speaker Pelosi was ” in Washington, D.C. with her protective detail at the time of the overnight, break-in” noting that the suspect in the attack has been taken into custody by the San Francisco Police.

Fox also recalled that this is not the first time the Pelosis have been targeted for attack. Back in 2021, photographs were published by tabloid site TMZ that showed graffiti had been sprayed all over their garage door. The message said “$2K” with a line running through it.

“Cancel Rent?” “We want everything!” Another line said, “UBI!” making a reference to the idea of universal basic income.

Now, while it’s perfectly acceptable to dislike the Pelosis because they are corrupt progressives who want to destroy the nation and rebuild it, it’s critical we don’t allow ourselves to lose our humanity. They are still people, two of our fellow countrymen, and it is appalling whenever someone is the victim of a crime.

Carrying this mentality is what makes us so different from the left. If we lose that distinction by being mean and nasty when the radical left faces tragedy of any kind, then we are no better than they are. I don’t know about anyone else, but that’s enough of a deterrent for me.

Here’s to hoping for a speedy recovery for all and that justice would be served swiftly. Which, of course, entirely depends on whether or not the folks in San Francisco decide to go soft on the suspect or not.
