‘The Middle’ Star Passes Away At 60
“The Middle” actor Pat Finn died of bladder cancer, according to records released more than two weeks after his death. He was 60.
Finn died Dec. 22 at his home in Los Angeles, according to his official death certificate obtained by TMZ. The document states he had a cancerous tumor in his bladder for years. No autopsy was performed.
Finn’s representative confirmed his death last month in a statement to The Post.
“It is with profound sadness and grief that the Finn family announces the passing of beloved comedic actor, Pat Finn,” the rep said.
“In 2022, Pat battled bladder cancer, went into remission, but the cancer returned and metastasized. He was a warrior in every sense of the word,” the statement added.
A GoFundMe page created before his death said the family needed help covering “the medical treatments, alternative therapies, and residual financial demands” tied to his illness.
“This devastating loss has been a gut-punch for all of us, but especially so for the Finn family, cherished friends of so many of us,” the page reads. “They remain in a truly tough spot. Throughout the grueling and painful process that was Pat’s fight against this insidious disease, the family has been a rock of support for each other.”
The fundraiser had raised more than $194,000 as of Thursday morning.
Finn was best known for his role as Bill Norwood on ABC’s “The Middle,” appearing in 23 episodes from 2011 to 2018.

Co-star Patricia Heaton paid tribute to Finn in an Instagram post, calling him “one of the finest and funniest human beings I know.”
“He was adored by all who knew him, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and wonderful comedy,” Heaton wrote. “Our hearts are broken, but as faithful Catholics, we know we will see each other again through God’s mercy. Rest in peace, dear brother.”
Finn also appeared on “Seinfeld” in 1998 as Joe Mayo and played Monica’s boyfriend, Dr. Roger, on two episodes of “Friends” in 2000.
His television credits spanned decades and included “The George Wendt Show,” “Murphy Brown,” “The Drew Carey Show,” “That ’70s Show,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “House” and “The Goldbergs.”
Finn is survived by his wife, Donna, whom he married in 1990, and their three children, Cassidy, Caitlin and Ryan.
