Trump Hints At Deporting Prince Harry After 2024 Election: ‘On His Own’
In Monday’s opinion piece published by the New York Post, Piers Morgan delved into the complex relationship between former President Donald Trump and Prince Harry, highlighting Trump’s potential intentions to significantly impact Prince Harry’s stay in the United States should Trump win the 2024 election.
The article explored Trump’s admiration for the British monarchy, particularly Queen Elizabeth II, and his disdain for Prince Harry’s actions in recent years.
Trump’s reverence for the Queen is deeply rooted in his childhood, as Morgan recounted Trump’s ecstatic recounting of his meeting with the Queen, reflecting on his mother’s admiration for her. The admiration set a stark contrast to his views on Prince Harry, whom Trump criticized for his discerning betrayal of the royal family.
Trump’s threat underscored a potential clash between personal vendettas and political implications. Morgan quoted Trump from a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference, where Trump lambasted his successor, President Biden, for being “too gracious” to the Duke of Sussex.
This sentiment has been exacerbated by the ongoing legal battle concerning Harry’s visa application, which the Heritage Foundation has challenged, seeking to investigate Harry’s admitted drug use detailed in his autobiography, “Spare.”
Piers Morgan wrote:
In the book, Harry brazenly admitted to using marijuana, cocaine and psychedelic mushrooms, including in America at the homes of friends.
For most noncitizens, this would be disqualifying. But government lawyer John Bardo of the Department of Homeland Security told a court last Friday that the book was not “sworn testimony or proof” that Harry took drugs.
Bardo argued, “Just saying something in a book doesn’t make it true” and added that people say things to “sell books” as he insisted Harry’s immigration records should remain private.
This defense has been widely criticized, with many pointing out that Biden’s team is only doing it because the prince and wife Meghan Markle have made no secret of their dislike of Trump and their support for the Democratic Party.
During his CPAC speech, Trump raged: “I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me.”
If I were Harry, I’d find these words very concerning, because it might indeed soon be down to Trump, who can be a vengeful enemy. This is not the first time he’s taken a whack at Harry or his wife.
The tensions between Prince Harry and the British royal family, particularly concerning the late Queen Elizabeth II, have been a topic of much public speculation and media coverage. The rift has multiple layers, stemming from Harry’s personal experiences within the royal institution and his decision to step back from senior royal duties along with his wife, Meghan Markle.
Central to their grievances, as detailed in various interviews and Harry’s own memoir, are issues of privacy, media harassment, and a perceived lack of support from the Palace. The couple’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021 laid bare many of their frustrations, including allegations of racial insensitivity and a lack of support for Meghan’s mental health struggles.
The revelations undoubtedly strained relations with the Queen, who was known for valuing the monarchy’s stability and unity. Despite these tensions, public statements from both sides have often reinforced a continued respect and affection for the Queen.
